If there is one person in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana who popularized the tourist spot Bangkok, it ought to be director Puri Jagannadh. Through his movies, he has made it very popular. For the last 12 years, he has been heading to Bangkok and Pattayya whenever he finds free time to have story discussions or for relaxing. But recently, he started having fancy for Goa. Instead of filming in Bangkok, he recently filmed major part of his movies like Heart Attack, Temper and Jyothi Lakshmi in Goa and surrounding areas.

So the industry has started believing that he has moved his den from Thailand to Goa beaches. But surprising everyone, the writer-director again went to Bangkok to finish off the scripting work for his next movie and has just returned to Hyderabad. According to his close friends, he still prefers Bangkok than any other destination as it offers everything that he needs.

To avoid political controversy, the title for Venkatesh and director Maruthi’s film has been changed from Radha Krishna to Babu Bangaram. After waiting for more than a year to sign a movie, Venkatesh recently has given his nod to director Maruthi’s storyline that has the title of Radha Krishna. Since titles like Radha or Radha Krishna can give the impression that the movie is based on the life of Vijayawada politician Late Vangeeti Radha, Venkatesh wanted some other title.

Our sources informed that after much thought the director Maruthi has come up with this Babu Bangaram as the title. In the Tollywood, everyone calls Venkatesh as Babu, so it would be apt for him, Maruthi seems to have believed. The movie will be launched on December 16th in Hyderabad. Nayanatara has been roped in to play the female lead. This would be her third pairing with Venkatesh.

In many ways, Sankarabharanam is a parade of Telugu comedians. Kona Venkat’s ability to pen funny scenes and comic lines is well-known and every comedian worth the name has been roped in for the film. From those who made their mark in short films to those whose career is on the upswing, everyone is seen in the film. Even Viva Harsha, Saptagiri and some from the Jabardast gang did their part for the film. As if Telugu comedians are not enough, Bollywood’s Sanjay Mishra too has been roped in and he made people to laugh. But, one comedian who was found missing in this movie is of course Brahmi.

Brahmi always had a special place in Kona Venkat’s comedy. From Chary in Dhee to McDonald Murthy in Ready and exorcist in Geetanjali, Kona Venkat took special care to present Brahmanandam. Why is he missing this time? If Kona Venkat really wants, he can sneak in Brahmanandam somewhere among the many kidnappers. But, he didn’t do that? Brahmi’s omission is now being talked about.

Film stars have plunged headlong into the relief and rehabilitation works in flood-ravaged Chennai. They initially donated money and material and have now come forward to physically work among the flood-hit people. Many stars are wading knee deep water to reach out to the victims From Karthi, Dhanush, Siddharth to Illayaraja and Khusbu have toured the affected areas and did whatever they could. Hero Vishal, who recently played a key part in the Nadigar Sangham elections, too did the same. But, he has become the talk of the town as he has distributed T shirts with his photo among the victims. The volunteers who worked with him, gave those T shirts to the flood hit people.

It is now clear that Vishal has political ambitions. He wants to make his mark in Tamil politics and is seeking publicity for his work. In fact, even during the Nadigar Sangham elections, where as the key member of Nazar’s panel, he played an active role and defeated Sarat Kumar panel. It was then rumoured that Vishal has political aspirations and would join the political bandwagon in due course of time. The T Shirts with his image have lent strength to these rumours. Circulation of negative rumors on ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ has become the high selling point in media and film circles. Of course, this also displays the craze of Pawan Kalyan but for true, many of us do not know what’s really happening with this prestigious film, in direction of Bobby. There were couple of replacements in technical crew and casting resulted in delaying of production schedules and now when the unit is fit to go on a kill with rapid completion of shoot, there are unforeseen hurdles faced through.

As we do know, ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ completed two long schedules in Gujarat and Pawan reported to be unhappy with both. So, was his irritation and angry expressed on the faces of producer Sharat Marar and director Bobby. Despite two trips to Gujarat, director Bobby could not complete the filming of key sequences which have been actually planned. As and when Pawan came back to Hyderabad after these schedules, he was left awestruck looking at the meager progress made. There was a complete mess with planning and execution. Things went unorganized due to feeble command of producer and director over the crew. Ironically, all the release strategy Pawan had in his mid with ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ went hay-wire. Let us see, where all these arguments and misunderstandings will lead to?

Some artists enjoy special craze when they suit well in certain subjects. Coming out from such comfort zone might not only damage their careers but also ruin their chances of growing big in industry. Young hero Nikhil took long time after ‘Happy Days’ to find his comfort zone and when he caught the right logic with ‘Swamy Rara,’ success bestowed on him with ‘Karthikeya’ and ‘Surya Vs Surya.’ Without repeating the same past mistakes, Nikhil could have sailed smoothly picking modern, scientific and thrill oriented storylines.

Meanwhile, Nikhil’s fascination for commercial comedy and urge to team with popular brand like Kona Venkat resulted in utter disappointment as crime comedy ‘Sankarabharanam.’ In a relative comparison between Nikhil’s past three to four performances, he was atrocious in the last outing ‘Sankarabharanam’ as NRI guy. Best suggestion flown from critics and well wishers side is, Nikhil has to remain firm in judging the subjects and thrillers with minimum logical balance can bless him a bright, long career. You are just fine in your own territory, please do not come out and spoil your career.

Every Friday, Telugu audiences are making sure that they will get a new treat from ’30 years’ Prithvi with his trademark comedy. The whole of “Shankarabarnam” failed to excite audiences but Prithvi’s Percentage Paramesh acts in the film are so hilarious that audiences can’t resist laughing over it again and again.

As Sun kisses good morning next Friday, Prithvi will be entertaining yet again with his newest character ‘Future Star Siddappa’. This character is featured in “Bengal Tiger” that is slated for December 10th release.

While the character design is so close to “Boiling Star Bablu”, a character written for Gopichand’s Loukyam, Future Star Siddappa is said to be a satire of couple of ageing Telugu stars of Tollywood.

Whatever the content maybe, Prithvi is slowly replacing those diversified comedy characters played by Brahmi all these days. Probably those who can’t afford Brahmi are now banking on Prithvi, but in Bengal Tiger both are present.
