As we all know, she was discovered with cancer in 2012 but did not let off her determination to fight against it. What kind of tough phase Manisha passed through during those times and how her family stood besides, she spoke briefly at a recent speech. ‘When I was diagnosed with cancer, first question in my mind was… Why me? Of course, I felt guilty for putting my entire family in this situation but cancer bought my family closer. Cancer happens to one person but it affects an entire family.

Then I decided to do those activities which gave me peace, joy and well being, following my heart. I grew as a person learning the ways to really honor our body and our life. Killing Veerappan, When Is It Releasing RGV?

‘Killing Veerappan’ is one more controversial film from Ram Gopla Varma eagerly waiting to hit the screens on 11th of this month in competition to commercial outing of ‘Bengal Tiger?’ In fact, the plan from RGV to hit the screens yesterday was misfired when Veerappan’s wife Muthu Lakshmi used all her force in stopping the scheduled release. Later on, Varma was hell bent to go for a final settlement with Muthu Lakshmi in order to oversee a safe release. Whatever the inner issues may be, ‘Killing Veerappan’ can most probably hit the screens on 11th and an official statement on this is expected only when RGV lands in Hyderabad on this Monday.

Apparently ‘Killing Veerappan’ has missed the precious time of this week because except ‘Sankarabharanam’ which opened to divided talk yesterday, there is no significant opposition. From next week, how far the Sandalwood Smuggler can confront powerful ‘Bengal Tiger’ can again put RGV and producers in dilemma. So, there are only half chances for ‘Killing Veerappan’ to see the theaters and of course, the film stars Kannada artists and trade is more focused on Karnataka state alone.

It was a dream Kajal Agarwal was hoping to get in reality and the god of Telugu masses, Pawan Kalyan helped her so. Being a top heroine of Telugu cinema from very long time, Kajal never acted opposite Power Star and ‘Sardaar Gabbar Singh’ has come like a lucky opportunity after the production team has played with different names for the heroine character. Finally, Kajal joined the shooting and she recently narrated the very first experiences of sharing the screen space and working with Pawan Kalyan on the spot. ‘What to say about this man, this is my first film with him and it has been fantastic working together.

Like many heroes, Pawan sir remains very chilled and cool on sets. He is such an amazing person who is very humble and struck down to earth, being a super star in Telugu. Seeing so much success in life, Pawan sir is still very modest and open to everything, everybody. This quality makes him very special. Coming to acting, he has incredible knack of switching on and off the camera effortlessly. My character in the film will be an emotional one and to describe it commercially, there is a lot of scope to dance and entertain. Surely, people will love my first tryst with Pawan Kalyan sir,’ an excited Kajal said.

In announcing the birth of his daughter, Facebook Inc Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan, declared they would donate 99 percent of their worth, the vast majority of which is tied up in Facebook Stock valued at $45 billion today. In doing so, Zuckerberg and Chan did not set up a charitable foundation, which has nonprofit status.

He created a limited liability company, one that has already reaped enormous benefits as public relations coup for himself. His P.R. return-on-investment dwarfs that of his Facebook stock. Zuckerberg was depicted in breathless, glowing terms for having, in essence, moved money from one pocket to the other.

However, Mark clarified that, he and his wife would receive no tax benefit from setting up their new charitable endeavor. “just like everyone else, we will pay capital gains taxes when our shares are sold by the LLC,” posted Zuckerberg on his Facebook page.

The entity called the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, would focus on areas like education and disease, he indicated the efforts would be similar to charity he and his wife had already supported.

Responding to a comment he would pay “zero tax” for the initiative’s investments that was made in reply to his Facebook post on Thursday, Zuckerberg denied that was the case. “Please don’t spread inaccurate information,” he posted.

Delhi Government’s Unique Plan To Curb Pollution

delhi

Following the Delhi High Court’s statement about the alarming levels of pollution in the city – “living in the city was like living in a gas chamber” yesterday, the Delhi government has devised a unique plan to keep a check on the pollution in the city. From 1st January, all the private vehicles with even and odd registration numbers will be allowed on alternate days.

This new decision by the Arvind Kejriwal government will allow the vehicles ending with an odd number on a certain day, evoke those with even number plates will enter the city the next day. Even the vehicles entering Delhi from other states will have to obey the rule.

However, this new rule will not be applicable to public vehicles. Each day, nearly 1,000 card are being introduced on Delhi roads and latest surveys reveal that Delhi has more cars than Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai combined.

The Delhi High Court has identified vehicular emissions and dust particles as the two main causes of air pollution in the national capital and asked both the center and state governments not to allow any major constructions without checking the dust levels are minimized.

Old Vehicles To Be Banned In India

Can you believe it; India has 13 of the world’s 20 most polluted cities, as reported by the World Health Organization (WHO) last year. On the last Diwali night air pollution in Delhi reached 40 times the limit recommended by the WHO.

Weak coordination and enforcement have limped action to clean India’s cities and tackle a health calamity that causes more than 6 lakh premature deaths every year. Diesel emissions, construction dust and the burning of crop stubble in farms is the prime reason for over dose of air pollution in metro cities like Delhi.

Indian government has announced to ban trucks and buses more than 15 years old to restrain pollution levels. Commercial trucks, which account for more than half of India’s vehicle emissions, are also included. The ban will come into effect in April and the Govt. will declare more details in the next two weeks.

New car sales are increasing in India. Taxes on cars and parking charges should be raised to curtail usage, and public transport should be expanded, opine experts. Last week India said it would require vehicles to abide by stricter emissions standards by 2019, three years ahead of the previous deadline.

Vegetable Vendors Show Kind Heart In Chennai

chennai

The torrential rains have wreaked havoc on several areas in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu. The entire civic life has come to a stand still and thousands of residents were stranded on completely immersed Chennai roads, waiting for someone to offer them food, water and other basic amenities. With shops and markets remaining closed for several days, even those who have been staying home are left with no vegetables and other provisions.

In the times when compassion was highly needed, what several vegetable vendors did in Chennai has touched everyone. A large group of vegetable vendors have been traveling several miles in difficult rainy conditions to buy vegetables from the Koyambedu wholesale market and are selling them in several areas in the city at normal rates without increasing prices even when the demand was so high.

On the other hand, there were also reports that some greedy marketeers have been selling 1 liter milk at Rs.150 and even several boat operators have been charging anywhere between 3,000 to 5,000 to rescue people stranded in flood waters.

Kona Venkat in a State of Confusion!

As we know top writer Kona Venkat triggered controversy resorting to appalling exegesis on director Srinu Vaitla. Kona was reluctant to be owning responsibility for the failure of ‘Bruce Lee’. Instead, he disparaged the director Srinu Vaitla alleging he hadn’t inducted the scenes written by him. Nor Kona has come forward to accept the ‘Akhil’s failure as his failure.

While interacting with the media, Kona appeared to have vexed with the big stars’ movies and threw a challenge that he wouldn’t do any more movies with big stars as they merely made as routine mass entertainers. He proclaimed that he would take up small budget movies which he felt the best choice to showcase his creativity. However, all the hopes, which have been pinned by Kona with ‘Shankarabharanam’ seem to have gone futile as the movie carried mixed reports on the day one of its release. Since big movies as well as small budget movies like ‘Shankarabharam’ have got negative results, Kona, perhaps, could have gone to a state dilemma whether what to do or what not to do.

What Have You Done For Me: Kamal!

kamal-haasan

There is nothing much to blame on Government or the local authorities, this is the way natural calamities occur and one could not be held responsible for the devastating Chennai floods which left people in a pathetic situation. As of now, entire Tamil Nadu is paralyzed and rescue operations are in full swing. However, the intermittent showers are still the worrisome factor at a time when people are slowly recovering from destruction.

While the reaction from celebrities is immense, here is legendary actor Kamal Hasan quite unhappy for lack of support from Government. ‘I feel guilty for living in a comfortable home when my fellow Chennaites are in distress. What are Governments doing and why are they asking for donations? Is this why we have appointed a Government to rule us? We are paying taxes promptly and where is all this money going? These are our hard earned money which hasn’t been used properly. This is completely sad and sick. Government’s don’t mind spending 4000 Crores on Corporate projects but we are just 120 Crores people and what is done to us,’ Kama questioned before a newspaper. Is Kamal welcoming the new challenges to confront from Jayalalitha Government?

Double Boost To Kumari!

The overwhelmingly weak verdicts given by Telugu public for the recent releases of ‘Size Zero’ and ‘Sankarabharanam’ are inadvertently turning out to be a blessing in disguise for ‘Kumari 21 F’ to still solidify its position till the time ‘Bengal Tiger’ joins the market. In fact, ‘Kumari’ opened to some decent revenues in the first weekend.

Later, when the row of prestigious films stood in the queue to check their fortunes, we thought that Sukumar Writings may not find a footing for more than one week. Luckily, none of the new films could impress viewers and collections for the above mentioned two are directly boosting ‘Kumari 21 F’ currently in its third week. In particular, ‘Kumari’ fever has gripped the youth audience and a high percentage of repeats are reported from main centers. As of now, ‘Kumari’ blessed each and every distributor and exhibitor associated with her with enough of profits. Coming one more week can be the happy run for Raj Tharun, Hebah Patel as lead casting and Dil Raju being the pillar behind a strategic release planning.
