Serious changes for Ram’s Harikatha
Energetic Hero Ram is a very disappointed man post the super failure of his recent release, Shivam. He had two releases this year – Pandaga Chesko and Shivam both failed to make a mark on the audience or the box office.
Ram is mulling serious changes for his next film, Harikatha so that he will be back to winning ways. The movie unit is already reshooting some portions of the film and is even planning to change the movie title. ‘Nenu..Shailaja’ is the new title in consideration.
Keerthi Suresh is making her Telugu debut with this movie. Kishore Tirumala, who penned dialogues for Raghuvaran Btech is turning in to a director with this film. Senior Producer and Ram’s Uncle, Sravanthi Ravi Kishore is producing the film. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music.
Akhil starts slow in Overseas
Akhil Akkineni’s debut movie, Akhil had released in more than 160 locations for the Overseas premieres of the movie. The movie had collected $74,805 at 12 Midnight PST which can be considered average for Tuesday (working day) Premieres.
The movie is expected to collect $85K finally from the premieres. The collections there are expected to increase tomorrow as there is a holiday due to Veterans day. However the talk of the movie is also disappointing and weak reviews have started emerging.
We will have to see if they impact the overseas collections. Back home, the movie released in more than 800 screens in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Akhil is likely to take a superb opening, highest for a debutant, going by the advance bookings.
Akhil Movie Review – 1.5/5
Story:
Akhil (Akhil Akkineni) a happy-go-lucky guy who falls in love in first sight with Medical Student Divya (Sayessha Saigal). To impress her, he joins hands with K V Rajendra Prasad (Rajendra Prasad). But things do not work as planned and Diwya ends up in Europe. A German Scientist Kathrochi is in search for Jua which stops Global Catastrophe from powerful UV rays.
He believes that it will bestow him with supernatural powers to rule the world. At this time, Divya gets kidnapped by Mambo (a African Goon) after she treats a wounded tribal lad who is aware of Jua. Rest of the story is all about how Akhil teams up with Johnson & Johnson (Brahmanandam) to save Divya and also save the earth from the impending catastrophe.
Performances:
Akhil makes a decent debut with Akhil. He fed fans with full meals with excellent dances and fights. However he had to work a lot on his histrionics and expressions. Sayesha Saigal came up with an impressive debut. She passed off without going much over the top but the director limited her character in the film. She is very impressive with her dance movements. Mahesh Manjrekar is not at all exciting while Brahmanandam as Johnson & Johnson, Sapthagiri as Pothe Babu Rao, Jayaprakash Reddy and Vennela Kishore could not muster any comedy.
Nagarjuna‘s cameo in Akkineni Akkineni song was a good addon for fans. Rajendra Prasad, Hema and African Actors have very little to do in the film. Veligonda Srinivas had come up with a very predictable story. He along with director Vinayak directed this socio-fantasy with shades of films like Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Ark, Lara Craft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, Lord of the Rings, Devi Putrudu, Anji etc. Its sad that Vinayak came up with such horrible script.
Kona Venkat’s dialogues are also not that great. Vinayak faltered in narration as the story goes on flat with out any excitement and the climax ends on a drab note. That too much editing in the last minute seem to have missed the continuity factor too. Vinayak films these days are good on comedy front, even that is disappointing in this film. Its high time Vinayak has to reinvent himself. Even films comedy doesn’t make any impact.
Technical Performances:
The movie like never before in recent times have two music directors – Thaman S and Anup Rubens. But still the music doesn’t live upto the expectation. BGM by Mani Sharma is very good. The VFX effects of the film were inspired from many Hollywood films and are again badly conceived. Camera work by Amol Rathod is noteworthy. Production Values of “Shresht Movies Banner” are grand.
Plus Points:
Nagarjuna cameo
Dances and fights
Cinematography
Grand production values
Minus Points:
Poor screenplay
Direction
VFX
Second half
Final Stay :
Akhil is a good example of an epic film which was foiled by uninteresting screenplay and dialogues. There are flat episodes all over the film till the interval sequence. And in the second half you realize that VinayaK is taking you a boring ride.
The poor quality VFX makes the film so unrealistic that there is no emotional connect. On the whole, Akhil – Power of Jua is a sheer waste of Akhil’s immense energy and hard work. Disappointing Stuff!!
AbRam Not Okay with SRK – Kajol Romance
AbRam the cute charming son of Bollywood badshah Sah Ruhk Khan is on news for something new this time. It usually is for his cuteness and latest for his perfect pout that he was on news but of late it’s his dad’s hit jodi that he is having issues with. Wondering why a 2 year old AbRam Khan is having hard feelings for Kajol? That yet again is a story of his innocent cute love for his dad.
It seems this little adorable toddler was watching the rushes of Dilwale, A Kajol and SRK starrer and saw his dad get wounded.
As per the screenplay he too thought his dad’s wound was caused by Kajol. AbRam it seems took this to heart and turned toward Kajol and said ‘PAPA TUTH GAYA.’ meaning dad is broken and since then he isn’t liking Kajol share screen space with SRK shares his dad Shah Rukh Khan.
Shah Rukh on the other hand is in envy of his son, sources say but on in lighter spirit. In fact proving it SRK quipped that he wouldn’t be sharing anymore pictures of AbRam as he was told not to in fear of his 2 year old surpassing Badshah’s fame.
Will Koh-i-Noor Return To India?
A group of Indian actors and businessmen in UK have initiated legal proceedings against Queen Elizabeth II demanding the return of the precious 100 Million euros Koh-i-Noor diamond to India. The 105-carat stone, said to have been mined in India around 800 years ago, was gifted to Queen Victoria during the British Raj.
Stating that the Koh-i-Noor is not just a 105-carat piece of stone. It has a lot of history and culture attached to it, Bhumika Singh, a Bollywood actress participating in the campaign, said that the ‘precious gem should be returned to India.’
Meaning the ‘mountain of light,’ Koh-i-Noor was once the world’s largest cut diamond and had been exchanged from one ruling dynasty to another in India. Duleep Singh, the last Sikh ruler, travelled to Britain in 1850 and handed the Koh-i-Noor to Queen Victoria.
The gem is now set in a Queen’s mother’s crown and is being displayed to the public in the Tower of London. Incidentally, the legal action coincides with Narendra Modi’s visit to the UK this week, which also includes a luncheon hosted for him by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace.
Nude Painting: Worlds Second Costliest
Painting is easy when you don’t know how, but very difficult when you do. So what you pay for a piece of art is just number as its true worth is invaluable. But actually here is the story of an art piece that was brought at a very high Value only next to the worlds costliest Picasso’s painting ‘Les femmes d’Alger’ (Women of Algiers)’ costing 1,185 Core rupees.
A boudoir painting of a woman by Amedeo Modigliani was purchased by a Chinese man at a whooping sum of 1,131 crore rupees on Monday at an auction in Christie’s.
Usually there are huge crowds for Paintings auction when they are pieces by legends like Da vinci, Picasso e.t.c but to have such a huge gathering for a Boudior painting auction came as a surprise to the Christie’s auctioning authorities but noting startled the world more than the price this piece of art was brought at.
Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder so we do not know what made this anonymous man buy the piece at such a high price, Could be that his pockets are as deep as an ocean or his love for art is.
Brutal Terror: 200 Students Shot Dead By ISIS
Following the ever growing brutal atrocities by the world’s most dreaded terrorist organisation, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the world’s super powers like Australia, Russia and France have been supporting the Syrian government in its fight against the ISIS.
Irked by this external powers curtailing their dominance, ISIS unleashed its terror yet again and resorted to a shocking bloodbath. In a heart-wrenching testimony to its brutal atrocities, the ISIS released its latest video in which it shot nearly 200 innocent school students to death by the River Tigris.
The terrorists captured the teenage students from various schools in the areas that are under their captive and shifted the students to deserted location, where they mercilessly tied the students’ hands an shot them in their heads.
Most of the students were seen pleading the terrorists to free them but around 12 masked terrorists took turns to shoot the students and throw their dead bodies in the River Tigris as the river turned red with blood. This massacre is termed as the second deadliest in ISIS’ history, after the gunning down of nearly 1,700 soldiers in the past. The video was uploaded by an ISIS terrorist from Yemen.
Nandi Awards: Who Is Ready To Give?
Since 2012, there are no Nandi Awards being given to Telugu cinema talents. For 2011, Sri Rama Rajyam walked away with a Swarna Nandi (Gold Nandi) being ‘Best Feature Film’ and later no film got that honours. That’s the combined effect of partition of Andhra Pradesh and newly formed governments showing least interest in Film Industry.
Awards are like energy boosters to actors who have won and others who want to win them. Not just for actors, every technician gets excited by these appreciations and honours. Post the division of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, Nandi Awards are totally stopped.
Sometime back, rumours started doing rounds that AP Government will as usual continue with Nandi Awards, while Telangana Government is all set to give new Lotus Awards.
Finally a representation from both Telugu Film Industry and Telangana Film Chamber have requested Telangana government to revive Nandis. But only if Telangana government honours with these awards, it might sound unethical.
So, what’s the mega plan to continue this Nandi tradition that started in 1964? Some say, both AP and T governments should unite and collectively give these awards. Not a bad idea, but who will first make the move with this proposal is something we have to wait and watch.

Seems like the exotic islands of Bali are really fortunate to get a glimpse of our hottie’s bikini treat.
Kareena and Sonam have a fashion face off
Mumbai: Bollywood beauties Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor attended actress Shilpa Shetty’s Diwali bash, looking like a million bucks! While one star made jaws drop and eyes pop in her bold and sexy saree, the other opted for a beautiful and elegant anarkali.
Sonam, who will be seen in the upcoming film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ with Salman Khan, has been sporting a number of traditional meets modern ensembles over the weeks rounding up to film’s launch.
