Leave criticism aside, why would an experienced and talented artiste like Sridevi will reject Sivagami role in Baahubali and pick that Yavana Rani role in Puli? Let’s put thins from Sridevi’s perspective. Speaking frankly, the character of ‘Yavvana Rani’ in “Puli” offered many more shades to perform for any actress rather ‘Sivagami’ role in Baahubali. In that Queen character, Sridevi got to show her cruel side, cunning emotions, terrific body language as a witch-craft lady.

In Sivagami, we have only that ‘royalness’ and loud dialogue delivery, but Puli’s Queen is stuffed with various shades. And that final fight of Sridevi with Vijay, almost made Sri a top villain fighting for own cause. Still, this role didn’t clicked and people are nailing Sridevi’s decision of rejecting Baahubali and picking up Puli.

Though Puli’s Yavana Rani is powerful than Sivagami on paper, all those shades, emotions and depth will connect to audiences only if director etches the role perfectly. While Rajamouli etched a superior character out of an ordinary writing, director Chimbudevan failed to do justice to a powerful Queen role. So, Sridevi made a right decision but it’s her director’s story telling that spoiled the show.

Ace director SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali is still in the news, even though his film Baahubali is reaching 100 days mark. One of the assistant professors at a popular engineering college has stunned his students by including few questions regarding Baahubali in an exam paper.

Students of the Civil engineering department in Vellore Institute of Technology were asked to design engineering sets for the shoot of Baahubali 2 war sequences. When the students re-checked with their professor, he said they read right. The students were given two 20 mark questions and a 10 mark question regarding Baahubali to compute the best structural solidity of the war sets to guarantee the security of the actors.

The assistant professor, who had set the question paper, had reportedly said that it was a conscious decision to make students appreciate the training process by adding relevant cultural and artistic references from our everyday lives.

This in fact is a great respect for SS Rajamouli who is getting ready to astonish movie lovers with sequel to his masterpiece Baahubali, which will start rolling later this year.Not just awards, this kind of gesture will also motivate filmmakers to think out of the world concepts.

While Anushka Shetty-starer Rudhramadevi saw the light of the day after dilly dallying for longtime, there is a lot of curiosity, buzz surrounding the project. However, outwitting all, what captivates most of the audiences is the Mega Treat in the film. Barring Anushka’s flawless acting as Queen Rudhramadevi, what may pull masses, crowds is “Mega Treat”.

Mega Star Chiranjeevi’s voice over, Allu Arjun’s goose-bumping  performance as warrior Gona Ganna Reddy sets apart from the rest of the film. In fact, Allu Arjun is one of the highlights of the film and a twist related to him in the climax is makes the movie more engaging. It’s common knowledge by now that Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu is all set to team up with acclaimed and award-winning director AR Murugadoss for his up next film after Brahmotsavam. The latest we hear is that the project is almost finalised and it would go onto floors soon after Mahesh wraps up his present commitment Brahmotsavam being directed by Srikanth Addala. Though the names of director Puri Jagannadh did rounds, we hear that Mahesh chosen Murugadoss over others.

The industry buzz is that the movie would be a Telugu-Tamil  bilingual and would be made with a whopping budget of Rs 80 Crore. Mahesh did test his waters in Tamil with Srimanthudu. Since it was a hush-hush release for Mahesh in Tamil, and lack of proper planning, the film which was a blockbuster in Telugu, failed to repeat magic in Tamil. Now Mahesh wants to compensate that with his next Brahmotsavam which will also be a Telugu-Tamil bilingual. In an attempt to get more closer, he would be joining forces with Murugadoss for his up next.

More details related to the project have been kept under the wraps. Murugadoss too is busy with his Hindi directorial Akira featuring Sonakshi Sinha, Konkana Sen Sharma in the lead roles. Meanwhile, Murugadoss would be providing screenplay to Chiranjeevi’s 150th film while it would be directed by VV Vinayak.
