In his first ever promotional interview for Bruce Lee, Ram Charan spoke at length about various topics like his future films, production houses, his dad’s comeback film and also his film with babai Pawan Kalyan.

Speaking about the one week gap between the release dates of Rudhramadevi, his film Bruce Lee and Akhil’s debut film Akhil, Charan said that he is not competing with any film and that Bruce Lee’s unit has been announcing that the film will be released in October 2nd week since the muhurtham date.

Charan said that due to the Dasara festive season every producer wants to cash in on the craze and that from now onwards, all the film producers must follow a minimum of 2 weeks gap before the releases.

Charan then explained an interesting chain reaction of Baahubali producers ‘without any ego’ requesting Srimanthudu makers to postpone their film, and the Srimanthudu unit in turn requesting the Kick 2 unit to delay their release to enjoy a fair box-office advantage. Charan also said that the industry runs in such ‘hidden agreement’ during the release days.

Tall hunk Rana Daggubati is riding high with Baahubali hit. His recent outing Rudhramadevi co-starring Anushka and Allu Arjun has also opened to record collections. Rana took some time as he worked years on both Baahubali and Rudhramadevi.

Now, the ‘Leader’ star is in mood to shoot. The production work of Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 is expected to commence in November. But, Rana will join the team only after 3 months of the shoot begins, since his part of work starts then. Meanwhile, Rana is working for Bangalore Days remake which is in last leg of shooting.

Utilizing the free time rightly, Rana has signed a new film under his dad Suresh Babu’s productions house. This yet to be titled film marks directorial debut for ace choreographer Prem Rakshit. Regina Cassandra is roped in to essay Rana’s love interest in the film touted to be a romantic action entertainer.

Rana will wrap up the film in 3 months time, before joining Baahubali 2. Rana and Prem Rakshit’s film will be launched on the auspicious day of Dasara. Plans are to release the movie in summer, 2016.

The last time Shweta Basu Prasad seen on the Telugu screen was in 2012 in Nuvvekkadunte Nenakkadunta. When Shweta was finding hard to grab film offers, she was arrested in sex racket. Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu is director’s actor. Proving it yet again, the Srimanthudu star has given his nod to shoot in the locales of Kashmir for his next movie Brahmotsavam. Presently, the film’s shoot is going on at blitzkrieg speed in Hyderabad where a montage song and few vital scenes were shot.

The present schedule is expected to be wrapped up within a week after which the unit will leave to Ooty in the first week of November. The latest buzz is that soon after completion of Ooty schedule, Mahesh and team would shoot in Kashmir which is known as Switzerland of Asia.

Recently, director Srikanth Addala along with his team has done a recce in the exotic locales of Kashmir and impressed with the few locations. In December, the makers are planning to go to abroad for shooting the remaining portions of Brahmotsavam.

Billed to be a sensible family entertainer, Brahmotsavam features Kajal Aggarwal, Pranitha Subhash and Samantha as female leads. Ever since the movie hit the floors, the film has been in news for various reasons. Recently, Baadshah SRK paid visit to the sets of Brahmotsavam and met Mahesh.

In what can be called as a good news for erotica lovers, the Indian censor board has lifted the 10-month long ban on “modifying” films with A certification that allows filmmakers to cut the objectionable content for TV screening.

Apparently, the censor board lifted the ban after numerous requests from the TV broadcasters and the film industry. “We have asked producers who have films with ‘A’ certificate to make cuts (to the film) voluntarily,” said Pahlaj Nihalani, chairperson of CBFC.

Recently, a C&AG audit had objected to the re-certification of over 172 from A to U/A. Since then, the modification of objectionable scenes has been banned by the CBFC.

Each year, cable & satellite (C&S) rights form a major chunk of revenues for film producers with nearly 12% overall industry’s revenues, which can average up to 400-500 million rupees, according to a FICCI-KPMG report.

After painstakingly waiting for a solid hit since Kandireega, Energetic Star Ram managed to taste a modest success with the comedy entertainer Pandaga Chesko. And recently, Ram’s much-hyped film, Shivam, released with a lot of buzz but fizzled out at the box-office in no time.

But now, Ram seems to have realized his mistake quite quickly. In his latest interview, Ram said that Hari Katha is completely a story-driven film. The Energetic Star further said that Hari Katha is one subject which he has never attempted in his decade-long career.

“It is going to be a surprise for moviegoers who are used to seeing me in mass entertainers,” said Ram. Hari Katha is being directed by Kishore Tirumala and produced by Ram’s uncle Sravanthi Ravi Kishore.

This Dasara season will see an intense competition between two major film families, the Mega family and the Akkineni family. While Ram Charan’s Bruce Lee is releasing on the 16th October, Akhil’s debut film Akhil is releasing on 22nd. Both the films are made with lavish budgets and nearly 100 crores are at stake.

While the onus is on the Cherry-Akhil clash, it is also a battle between the senior stars of Tollywood, Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna, who will be seen in their sons’ films. While Chiru will be seen in a 3-minute special fight sequence along with Charan, Nag will be seen with Akhil and Naga Chaitanya in a special song.

Naturally, the presence of these doting dads in their sons’ films will add a lot of value and increase the hype in the trade.

While Bruce Lee is a special film as it marks the return of Megastar to Tollywood after 8 years, Akkineni fans who tasted the family treat in Manam’s climax are raring to witness the magic once again in ‘Akhil’. It’s none other than Mega Brother Nagababu. If Mega functions used to witness ‘Powerstar’ shouts, then we have ‘Jai Balayya’ shouts adoring Nandamuri functions these days.

While Pawan Kalyan and Balayya will remain mum on these happenings, maybe there is a chance that if they have no idea of them, the other heroes from the respective families are facing the music. After getting irritated for times, finally Nagababu lashed out at those fans who are disrupting the functions, at a recent event.

Similarly Kalyan Ram also tried a dose on the fans who are creating some unwanted disturbance at Sher audio launch. But what is being discussed is that, if Kalyan Ram has handled fans very smoothly, Nagababu has given black and blue with hefty voice and in strong tone.

Ram Charan has paid a sudden visit to the sets of his uncle Pawan Kalyan’s forthcoming film Sardaar Gabbar Singh. Charan himself revealed that he met his Baabayi Pawan on the sets of Sardaar recently. “I have met Baabayi (Pawan Kalyan) during the shooting of Sardaar Gabbar Singh. I dropped in when they were shooting for a song and everything was going good,” told Charan indicating that all is well within Mega Brothers.

When asked about when he is going to start working in the production of Pawan Kalyan which was announced by the latter’s production house Pawan Kalyan Creative Works sometime back, Charan said, “I’m eagerly looking forward to work in the film. Currently, script work is going on. Two to three writers are working on the script. Once everything is finalised, the film will soon roll onto floors.” Ask him who is going to direct the film? “It hasn’t been finalised yet. It will be announced by Baabayi.”

Meanwhile, Charan is going to work on the Telugu remake of Tamil super hit Thani Oruvan which will go onto shoots from mid December. Director Surender Reddy is going to wield the megaphone. After this, Charan will be teaming up with director Gautham Menon for an action drama. So, Ram Charan-Pawan Kalyan movie might take sometime to materialise.
