Suma, He’s Not Sumanth Akkineni
Anchor Suma is easily the most popular of all the Telugu anchors and she even enjoys a huge fanbase across the Telugu states for her lively and eloquent anchoring of filmy events and TV shows. Suma is particularly admired for her flawless hosting on all the events over the years. But, even this hotshot anchor has committed a mistake on stage.
During the audio launch function of Akhil Akkineni’s debut film Akhil, Suma was addressing all the Akkineni heroes by their full names as she went calling them Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya, Akkineni Akhil, and then made a blunder by calling, Akkineni Sumanth.
We all know, and most certainly, even Suma knows that Sumanth’s surname is not Akkineni but Yarlagadda. However, the much celebrated anchor must have committed the mistake in a flow and on the spur of the moment and she might have surely realized it afterwards.
While making mistakes in such a huge public event is nothing surprising, coming from a perfectionist like Suma is definitely a huge surprise. Nevertheless, Suma did entertain the guests and celebs at the do with her lively anchoring throughout the night.
Double Lip Kiss On The Cards
Legendary actor Kamal Haasan is always known for his lip-kissing on silver screen. From Gauthami to Simran, Rani Mukherjee to Abhirami, he has always been passionate about filming those passionate moments for the silver screen. All eyes are on his latest movie “Cheekati Rajyam” that is going to be released soon.
An impressive trailer that was released recently has doubled the expectations on the film. Fast rush at a night-bar with so much of thrill, suspense, betrayal and mafia linked to it, Cheekati Rajyam could be a runaway hit for Kamal.
Kollywood is right now abuzz about these things and there is a spicy thing too. Whom did Kamal kissed inside the film? Some sources stated that towards the end of the film, it’s Trisha who locked lips with Kamal Haasan.
While there is buzz that Madhu Shalini also shared a lip-to-lip with the talented actor. Are the audience getting a chance for a double lip kiss treat? Seems so. For now, this thriller is all about saving a kidnapped kid and the scope for romance is something Kamal induces.
Cop Smashes Old Man’s Typewriter, But Humaity Alive
For the last couple of days, angry netizens on social media have been blazing with severe protests against the insensible sub inspector Pradeep Kumar from Lucknow, who attacked a 65-year old man named Krishna Kumar and broke his only source of income, a hindi typewriter, on which he types various kinds of documents earning a meager Rs. 50.
Krishna Kumar, a native of West Bengal, moved to Lucknow and he has been sitting on the footpath in front of the Grand Post Office for the last 35 years and earning his livelihood off his typewriter by working 10 hours a day. On Saturday, the SI objected to Krishna Kumar working from the footpath and asked him to vacate.
Even though Krishna Kumar tried to explain, the ruthless cop started banging his typewriter and destroyed it completely. The incident was captured on a camera and the images went viral in no time, inviting severe ire of Indians from all over. Bowing down to the pressure, the UP CM Akhilesh Yadav quickly ordered the suspension of the SI.
Not stopping here, the police department, which otherwise was targeted for the SI’s rude act, showed their kind side and bought a new typewriter and presented it to Krishna Kumar and told him that he can freely work from the same footpath and that nobody would object him in the future.
First Attempt To Break Baahubali’s Achievement
Is there a way to touch “Baahubali: The Beginning” box office records? We have earlier said that “Robo 2” is one flick on the radar that could do the unthinkable. But before that film of Shankar arrives, here comes Powerstar Vijay’s “Puli” that’s gearing up for a mega release on October 1st.
Unlike any other Tamil biggie, this time Vijay’s film is releasing in four languages including the original Tamil version on same day. On 1st, Puli will be hitting screens in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam languages.
For Hindi and Malayalam, local producers are involved big time to market, promote and release the movie. This is exactly like what Baahubali has done. In Tamil, there is less competition at box office on that date while in Telugu we’ve a packed October, with “Kance” releasing on October 2nd, followed by Rudramadevi (9th), Bruce Lee (16th) and Akhil (22nd).
In Hindi arena, star hero Akshay Kumar’s “Singh Is Bling” is arriving on 2nd. With so much competition around, will “Puli” be able to do a bigger box office magic like Baahubali? Though release is targeted for 1st, the film’s promotions are not upto the mark till date.
Firstly, Baahubali has created terrific buzz by revealing each character May 1st onwards, while film got released on July 10th. After 2 months and 10 days promotion, Rajamouli is able to rake up such big numbers. Not just in Tollywood, they promoted the film aggressively in Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam too.
With no such promotions seen or heard about “Puli”, Vijay’s star image in Tamilnadu will not help mint numbers in other states. Anyway, Puli will be first attempt to beat Baahubali and that’s a healthy competition. Directed by Chimbudeva, Puli features Vijay, Shruti Haasan, Hansika, Sudeep and Sridevi in crucial roles.
Mahesh And Prakash Insulting Villages??
“I find this whole thing of celebs adopting villages very insulting to villages. No self respecting village will allow itself to be adopted. Imagine how insulting we will feel if a Hollywood star would want to adopt india reminding us that we are an under developed country”, says maverick director Ram Gopal Varma, taking a dig at the likes of Mahesh Babu and Prakash Raj.
If his words are anything to go by, he feels like the whole process of adopting is stupidity. Like some communist at heart, Ramu says, “Any village who is willing to be adopted is actually admitting that its depending on left over morsels thrown at it by the rich and famous”.
He called the whole adoption thing going on at the moment as a conspiracy of government to incite the rich and the famous to adopt villages so that government doesn’t need to do anything. That’s a jibe taken not just at celebs like Mahesh, but also the governments. We wonder what could be Ram Gopal Varma’s real motto behind these comments, if not creating a storm out of nothing.
Probably Varma has forgotten the fact that the money government spends on any village for its infrastructure and other developments is not from any politician’s pockets, but it is also the money of these rich and responsible guys who pay to government in the form of taxes. Our director seems to look at everything just from negative angle and makes mockery out of it. Why attack a good cause too, Mr RGV?
