Popular for his horror flicks and suspense thrillers, actor cum director Ravi Babu is on the verge of completing his next script. While Ravi Babu has not revealed anything about his script, all that he talked about his ‘green initiative’ in filmmaking in a recent interview to a popular film journalist is an Eye-opener for filmmakers of low and even high budget films.
With the shooting of his next film, Ravi Babu plans to shun the total usage of paper on and off the sets to save the trees and even money. The entire script will be saved and edited on an iPad. Not stopping here, Ravi Babu also decided not to use generators for power supply. Instead, he will use the domestic LED bulbs, which emit bright light without even using diesel generators.
There’s more. Ravi Babu also shunned regular cast and crew meetings, which involve everyone travelling in cars from several places on the city, thereby consuming a lot of petrol. Now, all of Ravi Babu’s meetings happen on mobile phones, saving huge chunks of time and money.
The meticulous maker then gets down to numbers as he says hundreds of paper bundles and 100 litres of fuel can be saved each day with this ‘green initiative’, and this can save a lot of money for small and even high budget producers. Well, he surely has a point. If only our producers implemented this amazing initiative successfully.
With the humongous success of Baahubali, Young Rebel Star Prabhas is now a pan India actor. This success has also affected his upcoming projects in a positive way and the makers of his future films will be planning to project his films in a big way. In one such attempt, UV Creations, the producers of Prabhas’ next film, have roped in a popular Bollywood star.
Latest reports reveal that UV Creations has brought Neil Nitin Mukesh, the Bollywood star who made his south debut with the blockbuster Tamil film Kaththi. Recently, Prabhas’ brother and Kaththi director AR Murugadoss meet Neil in Mumbai and proposed a negative role in Prabhas’ next film with young director Sujeeth of Sharwanand’s Run Raja Run fame.
Neil is reportedly quite kicked about his Telugu debut and he even said that he admires Prabhas’ acting and showered him with unlimited praises. However, the Bollywood star is yet to sign on the dotted line and it only seems to be a matter of time before he joins the project. The film will begin once Prabhas nears the completion of Baahubali The Conclusion.
Young Tiger NTR is currently shooting for Sukumar’s film in London. Living up to his reputation of changing the looks of his heroes completely, Sukumar has once again cast his magic by giving NTR an all new and unexpectedly dapper image makeover with long hair, crew cut and a pointed beard.
While NTR’s stylish appearance is a point of discussion among his fans, the latest news of NTR riding the beasty Harley Davidson Fat Boy in the film has taken the fans’ excitement to a new high. But here’s more to the story. An older version of Fat Boy was used by the Hollywood action star Arnold Schwarzenegger in the early nineties’ blockbuster hit, Terminator Judgement Day.
In Terminator, Arnold was seen riding the Fat Boy during the pulsating chase sequence featuring the young boy on a Yamaha bike and the villain in the giant truck. As per the unit sources, the first look still of NTR from Sukumar’s film will be released on the eve of 15th August. However, it is not sure if it’s the ‘NTR on Fat Boy’ still will be released or a totally new one.
NTR’s association with Harley Davidson dates back a long way. In 2010, it was NTR who inaugurated the country’s first Harley Davidson showroom in Hyderabad. NTR is good friends with the showroom owner and there were also rumours that NTR himself got a stylish 7 lakh worth Harley Davidson bike.
The Honourable Members of the Parliament had a hearty laugh post a slip-of-tongue by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan in the House on Thursday.
While inviting Uma Bharti to place a statement on the table of the House, Sumitra Mahajan addressed the Union Minister as ‘Shrimati Uma Bharti ji’. Uma Bharti don’t want to let it go unnoticed and quickly reacted – ‘I’m not yet married and there is no scope for it’ and the house erupted in laughter at once.
Immediately, Speaker who was seen laughing uncontrollably apologised and rectified her mistake with ‘Shri Uma Bharti ji’. In a lighter vein, Uma Bharti responded – ‘There is a no vacancy board now’.
Uma Bharti hails from Madhya Pradesh and she is associated with BJP from a very young age. Usually, She is addressed as ‘Sadhvi’ for renouncing the Worldly Life.
Of course, if a new industry arrives, then it will be new target for our top stars. They may say, collections are least bothering for them but all it makes them happy is a hit. In the tinsel town that invests crores to get some profits, how come collections are not important? Needless to say, two biggies of the recent times are reset the targets of everyone.
Achieving 70+ crores is a bigger target until Magadheera is beaten by Attarintiki Daredi. And then, industry is mulling over plans as to how they could touch that 100 crore ‘share’ mark. Both Baahubali and Srimanthudu have redefined film business now. They proved that proper publicity and placement will ensure hefty collections for any film provided with fantastic content inside.
Apart from the marketing stuff, ticket hikes and the style of distribution to all centres in the Telugu states, while releasing in Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi on same day are another added advantage. These positive factors helped Baahubali and Srimanthudu touch 100 crore share mark, and now other star heroes and directors should now follow this route to touch the targets laid by Mahesh and Rajamouli.
Top stars like Charan, Bunny and NTR could easily reach these figures, because they all have huge potential to tackle the masses in style. And there is no need to tell that even Pawan Kalyan could touch it rather easily. Baahubali looks a bit far, but touching Srimanthudu would be an easy task for any of these big stars if they have right mix of content and promotion.
Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s Kick-2 was placed for the censor on Thursday. The Regional Censor Board members have watched the special screening of the movie at Prasad Labs and decided that the movie gets ‘A’ certificate.
The makers are not at all satisfied with this certification. They have approached the revising committee at least expecting ‘U/A’ certificate. The screening for the Revising Committee will take place on Monday.
On the other side, the makers are kick-starting the movie promotions from today with the Platinum disk function event this evening in Hyderabad. The movie after a series of postponements, will hit the marquee on August 21st.
Story:
Kaththi (Raj Tharun) is a jobless road side romeo who falls in love with a Bengali girl, Praneetha (Avika Gor). After some initial persuasion, Praneetha falls for him. When Kaththi approaches her father (Rao Ramesh) for her hand, he imposes a condition to maintain the family for a month with his own earnings.
A determined Kaththi starts it well but a sudden jolt hampers every thing. What is that? How it changed the fate of Kaththi and his love? forms the rest of the story.
Performances:
Uyyala Jampala pair Raj Tharun and Avika Gor had come up with a spirited performance yet again. Raj Tharun is impressive as road side romeo and lover boy. His dialogue delivery is also good. Avika is cute as always in the girl next door role.
Rao Ramesh is the major highlight of the film and came up with an excellent performance. Posani appeared in an important role. Krishna Bhagavan, Praveen, Jayalakshmi, Sathya, Sunny, T.Madhu, Madhavi, Rajitha performed to their roles.
Technical Performances:
We have seen several stories of hero making fool of heroine’s dad, entering his house and accepting his challenge. Though the hero and heroine’s father confrontation scenes are routine, the director managed to keep the audience glued with some good comedy, pacy narration and mass dialogues. Director Trinadh Rao Nakkina comes up with a good work.
Sekhar Chandra’s music is good and will woo masses. Background score is good. Editing is good over all but could have been better. Camera work is good and Production values are fine.

Final Say:
Cinema Choopistha Maava despite some glitches here and there is largely entertaining with good comedy and mass dialogues. The movie for sure is a time pass fare and will keep you entertained
