Trend: Political Touch To Film Collections

Share

sriman11

Listening to a film’s dialogue on a radio and then rushing to theatres is a thing of 70s. After so much revolution in the communication world, people are now-a-days reading tweets of biggies and then making a beeline at theatres. Though this impact is still not that bigger, here comes the political support to big films which is literally dictating terms directly when it comes to influencing a movie viewer.

If Prime Minister is meeting Baahubali, then definitely almost all the political buffs who never throng to cinema theatres have taken special interest of this film. None other than Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh spoke about the same film. And then we have Telangana Ministers recently sharing their thoughts about Srimanthudu movie. As these high profile politicians itself are talking about films, common people who generally have fewer inclination towards films are also giving amazing attention to movies, thereby helping the collections multiply many times.

Another side of this trend is that, making politicians speak about movies is a daunting task. Probably for Baahubali and Srimanthudu, the star heroes and distributors involved in the project are affiliated to certain political outfits, so they could have easily organised a screening for them. However, not all big heroes could pull such political support and get a nitro-boost to their film collections.

To finish off, even if political mileage is given, only if a film’s content is extra ordinary it will speak volumes. For Baahubali and Srimanthudu that paid off, while political touch has become an icing on the cake.

The Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau has slapped notices to the driver of Coordinator of TDP Party Workers’ Fund, Nara Lokesh. Lokesh’s driver Kondal Reddy was served notices by the T-ACB on Wednesday under section 160 CRPC in connection with the sensational cash-for-votes case. The ACB has asked Kondal Reddy to appear before the investigation agency on Thursday.

It may be recalled, on May 31, Revanth Reddy was caught by ACB along with Bishop Harry Sebastian and R Uday Simha while allegedly paying a bribe of Rs 50 lakh to Elvis Stephenson, a nominated MLA from the Anglo-Indian community for supporting the TDP nominee in Legislative Council elections on June 1. Revanth was caught on record stating that his boss, Mr Naidu would help Stephenson if he lost his MLA position in Telangana and compensate it in AP.

Meanwhile, government of AP has tightened the issue by trying to put Telangana officials and Telephone operators in spot in the phone tapping. Looks like, there is no end for the battle between AP government and Telangana government in sight.

Rahul, Ask Mumma how much money did we take: Sushma fires

Ever since the beginning of the Parliament’s monsoon session, the Congress party has been continuously stalling both the houses on several issues. One of those issues is the Lalit Modi scandal. It is well known that the Union Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj has been facing severe wrath of Congress for allegedly helping the tainted former IPL boss Lalit Modi with his visa procedures.

A huge showdown between Sushma Swaraj with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi took place yesterday and even today during the sessions. In a scathing counter attack, Sushma Swaraj, after claiming her innocence in the whole issue, mocked Rahul Gandhi with several satirical words.

The Minister said that Rahul Gandhi must take a holiday and read his family’s history before he questions her about “how much money did her family get for helping Modi.” Launching a full throttle attack, Sushma says that it was the Rahul Gandhi’s family and the Congress party that allowed Quattrochi (Bofors) and Anderson (Union Carbide) to flee from India in quid pro arrangements.

Sushma then mocked Rahul saying, “Rahul Gandhi must ask, Mumma, how much money did we take from Quattrochi?” Sushma concluded saying that it was the Congress led UPA government that gave Lalit Modi his right of residency in the UK.

I’m Not Kriti Sanon’s Boy Friend!!

kriti

Voila!! He rubbished dating rumours with Mahesh Babu’s 1-Nenokkadine heroine Kriti Sanon. Till couple of days back, model Gaurav Arora is not a big name though he has auditioned and failed for big films like Aashiqi 2 and Khamoshiiyaan. But her relationship news with Kriti has shot him to huge fame now.

Me and Kriti are good friends since modelling times. She became a busiest heroine now with plenty of offers in hand. We still maintain that friendship but nothing more“, said Gaurav. “I’ve neither dated her, nor we are planning to“, he confirms, clearing the air.

Both Kriti Sanon and Guarav Arora have started their careers at around same time and became quite busy folks in modelling world. Eventually Kriti got break with 1-Nenokkadine and Heropanti, while Gaurav got one now, Vikram Bhatt’s Love Games whose shooting will start soon.

In Bollywood, the idea of being single never works and always in a relation with someone works big time. Name one star heroine or hero who doesn’t have a partner? That’s how it works. Surprisingly Kriti is yet to found one anyway.

Don’t Underestimate Pawan Kalyan

Share

sardar

Trade circles are actually considering only Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam and Jr NTR’s Nannaku Prematho to hit cinemas for Sankranthi 2016. But what’s happening in Pawan Kalyan’s camp is something that’s really worrying all.

Pawan Kalyan is said to be taking no breaks and filming for “Sardaar” at break neck speed. Looking at the way director KS Ravindra is making this flick, we could say that he’s adamant to bring the flick to theatres by Sankranthi 2016. Already Pawan made it huge with “Gopala Gopala” for 2015 and seems like he want to repeat same.

Though “Sardaar” is not being considered for Sankranthi for now, let us not underestimate Pawan’s speed because the film’s shooting schedules are on perfect track and might speed up after Kajal joins the gang.

Anyway, its long time we have seen 3-4 Telugu biggies fighting at box office and that always makes the choices interesting for audiences too. Hope, Sardaar, Brahmotsavama and Nannaku Prematho do arrive in January 2015 and provide ample entertainment.

First Look: Kanche Packs A Punch

Share

kanche (1)

Mega hero Varun Teja’s latest flick ‘Kanche’ is making waves with its first look. Already the soldier look of our hero from the initial teaser picture that was released sometime back made a huge impact. Here comes the first look poster, which announces that a teaser is coming on August 15th.

Seems like “Kanche” is the story of an Indian soldier, his love story and his escapades for the country. This poster is giving out many details about the project and setting the mood right. Especially the visualisation of a couple, needless to say Varun and Pragya, having a stroll and in the bottom part soldiers engaged in a war are quite hard hitting.

Also the way a handwritten Telugu letter with British Raj stamp at the top corner is giving quite nostalgic feel about per-independent era. Known for his philosophical flicks, director Krish is surely packing a punch with this poster itself. Let’s see what patriotic side he will showing to us on August 15th. Countdown begins.

Rajamouli Delays 300 Cr Deal

Baahubali box office storm has lured several corporate distribution companies to acquire the film’s second part theatrical rights afore competition increases. Speculations were rife that, Eros International which is making efforts to gain foothold in South cinema has offered massive Rs 300 crores in order to pick Baahubali 2 rights. Nevertheless, it is heard that Rajamouli appealed his producers to wait until production work completes. According to him, the price will upsurge post release of stills and teasers.

While Rajamouli concentrated to introduce all major characters in Baahubali- The Beginning, the 2nd part Baahubali- The Conclusion will have actual drama. The Conclusion is much bigger than the beginning in many aspects. Apart from heavy war sequences never seen on Indian screens, the 2nd installment will have engaging story with few twists and conclusions for many doubts created with Baahubali.

Indeed, Baahubali Hindi collections made Rajamouli to delay the big deal offered by Eros. Karan Johar who bought Hindi rights for 10 crore has bagged more than 50 crore profits. Let’s see for what price Baahubali 2 business will be closed!

Enough Congress, You Have Done Too Much For The Nation

Share

cong

“This is murder of democracy. 440 members want to talk and 40-50 members are not letting them. Let people know how irresponsible they are.” These were the words spoken by the Parliament Speaker Sumitra Mahajan lashing out at the protesting Congress MPs and stalling the Parliament proceedings for the 16th day in a row, with only two days remaining in this monsoon session – a gross wastage of time and crores of public money.

Ever since the monsoon session of the Parliament commenced couple of weeks ago, Congress has been hellbent on disrupting both the houses in the Parliament, thereby not leaving any scope for the discussion on the goods and services tax (GST). While BJP’s shortage of majority in the Rajya Sabha comes as an added advantage for Congress, the opposition party has also been acting too obstinate to oversee a discussion on the proposed bills by constantly demanding to discuss the Vyapam scam.

Adding to this, Congress is also using the Lalit Modi controversy and is demanding the resignation of Union Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj. The logjam doesn’t seem to end even though the minister said that she is ready to reply to any question shot by the Congress party’s top leaders, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.

Congress’ whimsical ways have now led the party to isolation in the Parliament, with leaders of several other opposition parties openly lambasting Congress leaders for their stubborn ways. Even the Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav had warned that his party won’t support Congress if it continues its wilful ways. Apart from the Samajwadi Party, other opposition parties like AAP, Trinamool Congress, Nationalist Congress Party and the Rashtriya Janata Dal too have parted ways with Congress over the stalemate situation.

The proposed NDA government’s GST legislation subsumes service tax, excise tax and other local taxes and creates an uniform tax rate across India and it can boost the country’s GDP by 1-2%. Economic progress of the country is at stake with both the houses being adjourned session after session and with just one and a half day left for the monsoon session, it’s highly unlikely that the bill is passed in the Parliament.

It’s time for the people to shout out loud, “Enough Congress, you have done too much for the country already.”
