Do You Know This Old Man?

Share

kalam

These kinds of images are nothing new to Indians in their everyday lives and a majority of people will not even recognize this frail old man, who runs a repair shop of domestic appliances. He is no one else but former President of India and Bharat Ratna Abdul Kalam’s elder brother, the 99-year old Mohammad Muthu Meera Lebbai Maraicker.

In the times of even gully politicians getting caught in corruption cases, this image clearly proves what a simple and an honest life the former President led till his last breath. Kalam, apparently, did not leave any will to his family members until his death. Now, the government of India is reportedly thinking of handing over all the belongings of Kalam to his elder brother.

Mahesh’s Father Blinks For Just 10 Minutes!!?

As the release date of “Srimanthudu” is inching in, various new things about the film are getting unfolded. Latest update is about the character played by Jagapathi Babu in the movie. In a way we hear that his fans are going to be disappointed with the final-cut of this Mahesh Babu starrer that’s carved out by talented writer-director Koratala Siva.

The trailers do indicate that Mahesh confronts his multi-millionaire dad, played by Jagapathi Babu, and then walks out of home to pursue his dreams. There said to be so many logger-head like scenes between Mahesh and Jagapathi, shot in Malaysia, and they have come out really well.

Unfortunately all those scenes have lost at the edit table and the final cut haven’t accommodated many of them. That fine tuned Jagapathi’s role to a mere 10 minutes, which is more or less like a blink-miss appearance in the film.

Sometimes these 10 minute appearances are what stuns everyone. Say it with Satya Raj in “Mirchi” or Prakash Raj in “Athadu”, there scenes wouldn’t make up to 10-15 minutes, but they have created long lasting impact. Let us see what happens.

Ban On Maggi, Porn: Huge Effect On Indian Youths

Share

ban

As ‘lead’ is found, the two-minutes cookable and ultimately tasty Maggi noodles are banned a while back. With Courts finding that porn sites are actually impacting youths’ mindset with unwanted thoughts, a special IT act is used to ban nearly 850 porn websites. And most needful and helpful tool for youths, the Cigarette got much costlier, leaving them with no option than to drink ‘chai’ at canteens rather smoking a puff. Sit back and relax, if you consider that the Government is cutting out the luxuries you have in the form of Maggi, Porn and Cigarettes.

Hardly it takes 10 mins for mothers to cook Idlis and 10 more minutes more to make dosas. But we’re losing that quick touch of home made food with the advent of these ‘tasty’ ‘noodles’. Even if ‘lead’ is there or not, everyone got accustomed to eating these ready-made food because it takes less money, less hardships in cooking. But it costs you more money than a regular breakfast prepared by mom. By banning these noodles, no doubt youths got closer to traditional Indian breakfasts. They are more dependent on Idly, Vada, Samosas and Upma. If someone feels there is more oil or fat content in these foods, don’t make such complaints, walk in the park for 20 minutes daily. Or do yoga asnas, as said by our Prime Minister Modi.

How to control the porn urges now? Wait, who asked you to develop such an urge to watch more and more porn everyday? Not many agree, especially filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, porn is the actual spoiler of young minds. Needless to say, availability of smart phone sand cheaper 3G internet services brought kids close to viewing porn on mobile phones itself. 50% of child sex-abusers stated that they got inspired after watching a porn clip. So, banning porn seems to be good move then. There are many entertaining stuff than porn on internet, so youths will now get diverted to those useful stuff now.

Okay, we can’t afford to buy cigarettes now, because Modi government has upped the prices by leaps and bounds. Why would you panic anyway when you’re not spending money and buying cancer? On every cigarette pack it is written that smoking is injurious to health but none cared the warning anytime, only saying that they can’t live without sucking a puff. However when the prices are hiked, youths who can’t afford to buy are able to live without those puffs. In a way, price rise helped many youths leave the habit.

All these bans are no doubt some good signs of progression, when it comes to Indian youths. There are other bans like, ban on scarves in colleges, ban on cow meat in Maharashtra and others, which are socio-political stuff and youths are no way connected to them. They want to own the future, re-write it and re-invent their growth curve. Go ahead youths!!

Finally, the Manchu family can heave a huge sigh of relief. The Supreme Court of India has said that Mohan Babu can keep is Padma Shri and that the coveted award will not be taken back by the government. It is well known that Andhra Pradesh High Court had long back ordered the authorities to take back Mohan Babu’s Padma Shri following allegations of dishonoring the award.

During the release of Vihsnu’s Denikaina Ready, several cases were filed on Mohan Babu for adding the ‘Padma Shri’ title along with his name in the film’s credits. After a series of hearings, the High Court passed the judgement to cancel the honor bestowed upon the senior actor. Mohan Babu then challenged HC’s ruling in the Apex Court.

In his counter petition, Mohan Babu stated that the film’s producer had credited him as Padma Shri Mohan Babu without his knowledge. Mohan Babu also stated that he will not dishonor the award in the future and that he may be permitted to keep the award. Following the hearings, the Supreme Court has nullified High Court’s orders.

Eight Crores Is Too Big For His Film

Share

puli

Tamil superstar Vijay’s Puli fetched eight crores for its Telugu dubbed version. This is a huge deal considering Vijay’s market in Telugu. His recent release Jilla did fairly well over here, but eight crores for his film is too big amount. Looks like Sridevi’s presence played huge role in it.

Sridevi played a key role in Puli, a folklore Tamil film made on a high budget. Shruti Haasan and Hansika did the female leads in this film that has Sudeep as the antagonist. Heavy star cast and the high production values grabbed eyeballs of Telugu market circles. Puli is also being called as Tamil Baahubali must be another reason for this handsome deal.

Puli will be released simultaneously in Telugu in a big way. This is going to be the biggest release for Vijay in Telugu. This is best chance for him to make a lasting impression in Tollywood. He is the only Tamil superstar that failed to expand his market in Telugu while all other top Tamil heroes have made a mark.

The severe deflation in the Gold rates across the world has shown a deep affect on the Indian gods. According to a latest survey conducted by the World Gold Council, all the temples in India have incurred losses to the tune of a staggering 6 lakh crore due to gold rates deflation since the last one year.

The report further says that the Indian temples constitute of nearly 20,000 tonnes of gold reserves throughout the country. A majority of these gold reserves are through offerings from devotees. While most temple trusts deposit their gold in several banks, 80% of reserves still lie in the temples in the form of statuettes of the deities.

World’s richest temple, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam has gold reserves worth 70,000 crores all in the form of gold biscuits, bricks, statuettes, coins and ornaments. Of this, 80 to 100 kilo gold is offered by devotees each month. The TTD also deposited 2275 kilo gold in the State Back of India, Mumbai branch and another 1353 kilo gold is lying in the safety lockers of the Indian Overseas Bank in Hyderabad. Both these banks have been paying TTD an interest of 1.61% based on the previous rates.

The Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple in Tiruvananthapuram, Kerala has a staggering 3,000 tonnes of gold in its lockers. According to the last year’s gold rates, the total value is now worth more than 1 lakh crore. Yet another famous temple in Kerala, Guruvayor, has gold reserves of 600 kilo followed by the Sabarimalai temple also in Kerala, which receives up to 15 kilo gold and 105 crore cash as offerings from the devotees each year.

In the west, the famous Shirdi Saibaba Samsthan has 120 crore gold reserves, while the Vaishno Devi temple up north in Jammu has 1200 kilo gold. Apart from these, all other temples across the country add 20,000 tonnes more to the whole tally.

In September last year, the rate of one gram of gold in the international bullion was Rs. 2,615. The value depreciated to Rs. 2,254 by July this year, at 14.21% depreciation compared to that of the rates existing six months ago. On an average, 3 lakh rupees for 1 kilo gold at Rs. 300 for one gram has been depreciated, leading to a loss of 6 lakh crores for 20,000 tonnes gold.

Star Heroes Staying Away From Mahesh Babu

Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu is all set to hit the marquee on 7th of this month. Mahesh is doing his best to create super buzz for this film prior to the release. Advance booking trends indicate that Mahesh’s efforts are yielding results. Star directors like Puri, Harish Shankar and Srikanth Addala came forward to say a word about Srimanthudu.

While directors are supporting Mahesh, star heroes are staying away from talking about it. We have seen all the heroes speak great words about Baahubali prior and post release of the film. Seems like it is an exclusive luxury that Rajamouli films enjoy. When it comes to other films, our heroes are not bothered about wishing the best.

Of course Mahesh Babu also doesn’t tweet or talk about his competitors films. Bollywood Superstars Aamir, Salman and Shahrukh Khan are supporting each other without any egos or jealousies. Maybe it is time for our heroes to support one another like Bollywood stars do.

Telangana Chief Minister KCR is all set to get a brand new camp office. The Roads & Buildings officials have started the preliminary works and the proposed building will be built in the sprawling land belonging to the IAS Officers’ Association, which is located right behind KCR’s official residence.

Already, bungalows of several IAS officers have been demolished to build the approach roads and close to 25 IAS officers have been vacated from their bungalows to facilitate the demolition. The current camp office was constructed during the late YSR’s reign. However, KCR orphaned the building citing Vaastu problems and turned his official residence into camp office.

Apart from the the IAS Officers Association lands, some land from the Centre for Economic and Social Studies will be acquired for the construction of the new camp office. The nearby Osmania Distance Education Department has already been shifted. Also, a new main road will be built which will connect the new camp office to Begumpet and Ameerpet main roads.

Short filmmaker files complaint on Superstar

Even after several months of its release, India’s biggest grosser ever, PK, is still haunted by numerous police cases. Bearing the brunt now is the film’s hero and Bollywood superstar, Aamir Khan. A Delhi based short filmmaker named PR Ullhas has filed a complaint against the star for calling the Delhi policemen “Thulla” in PK.

The young filmmaker cited the example of the complaints filed against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, who also canned the Delhi police “Thulla”. “If a complaint can be filed against Kejriwal for using the derogatory term then why not Aamir Khan?”, said Ullhas, talking to the media.

Ullhas even submitted the scenes of PK to the Delhi police, in which Aamir calls a policeman “Thulla”, which means corrupt cop. This is not the first time that the young filmmaker filed a police complaint, as in the past too, he had filed a complaint on Amitabh Bachchan for singing the National Anthem improperly,  and also on Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, for calling Delhi government as Kejriwal Sarkar instead of Delhi Sarkar.

Akhil’s Early Morning Gyaan On Deepika

Share

akil4

When there are no shootings, common folks expect our star kids to wake up at 11 and then have their breakfast by afternoon. That’s popular mis-conception however. Talented folks like Akhil Akkineni and other star kids getup as early as six and then head to gym to keep themselves fit.

Before heading to gym or anything, here comes Akhil, giving a gyaan about Deepika Padukone. Yes, he’s talking about our Bollywood seductress Deepika as he can’t come out of her hangover. “Had the late pleasure of seeing Piku yesterday. It’s quite amazing how they made a film about constipation so beautiful. Motion se emotion! Amazing writing n even more amazing n natural performances to back the writing up.

Was just in awe of Deepika Padukone”, said Akhil. Maybe the film is already forgotten in film circles, though a big hit, because various other blockbusters like Baahubali and Bajrangi Bhaijaan have taken the centre stage. Anyway, it’s good that Akhil didn’t missed a good flick and hope he too delivers such stunner at box office.

Akhil’s debut flick is being directed by VV Vinayak which is likely to hit cinemas on Dasara 2015. On August 29th, Nagarjuna’s birthday eve, first looks of this film is going to be release.
