They are the reason for suppressing small movies in Andhra Pradesh. They literally iron footed on the development of Telangana cinema. They are running a mafia of theatres. They don’t want anyone else to grow in film industry. Who are they?

Only Dil Raju claimed himself that “I’m also the said member of Aa Naluguru” and others being Allu Arvind, Suresh Babu never spoke about the criticism, but they are constantly criticised. The fourth is one is a group of big-budgeted film producers. But these so called ‘Aa Naluguru’, who are accused or running Tollywood like a mafia kingpins have won the elections conducted to Film Chamber.

A while back, the happening big producers of Telugu Film Industry have decided to cut the publicity and promotion expenditures of Telugu films by nearly 40 lakhs and hence decided to not give ads to each and every channel and newspaper. That created a severe outrage while other big producers like Nagarjuna and Bandla Ganesh openly saying that they belong to all and claimed not part of syndicate.

Similarly people like Dasari Narayana Rao and Natti Kumar breathe fire on ‘Aa Naluguru’ for keeping bunches of theatres in their hold. Still, these are the persons who swept away Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce elections. Suresh Babu is the new president, while Dil Raju, Damodara Prasad and other biggies are selected for key posts.

Sometime back when Suresh Babu asked a thing, there is no answer from many. ‘A particular corporate body is trying to buy nearly 800 theatres in AP and Telangana, so, will our belittled producers now say that corporate body also joined ‘Aa Naluguru”, he asked. From exhibitors point of view, if a movie gets rave reviews, they are ready to give theatres but not to all those crap.

This is one point other producers, distributors, studio owners and others have noticed it seems and voted for so called Aa Naluguru. Also a big shot like Dil Raju failed to get theatres for Kerintha due to presence of big films at theatres. Looking at these developments, it is tough to argue that only four persons are controlling movie theatres. From Ala Modalaindi to Ganga, if a small movie is good, it will go guns at box office.

Generally at press meets and media discussions, producers who don’t even make a single movie in a year speak about ‘Aa Naluguru’ suppressing film distribution and releases. We wonder what happened to them while voting for Suresh Babu and Dil Raju panel the other day. So, if those who are readily making movies have to speak, then their voice came out in the form of Suresh Babu. Isn’t that we have to say?

According to highly-placed sources, former actress and Mahesh’s wife Namrata Ghattamaneni is taking care of everything related to the promotions of Srimanthudu. Buzz is that she is very keen and particular on promoting the film and placing it well. ”

Namrata is holding series of discussions with the marketing experts and taking suggestions on how differently one could promote a film. She is very excited with innovative ideas of promotion and is taking call on the spot,” divulged a source in the know.

Given that the film’s releasing on August 7, on the eve of Mahesh’s Birthday, and there is little time, Namrata is asking every particular detail related to film promotions. “Like never before, she is involved in the film promotion,” added the source.

Industry experts opine that Srimanthudu is crucial in Mahesh’s career especially the fact that film is releasing post the debacle of Aagadu. Both Mahesh and Namrata are very keen on making the film a hit. Let’s wait and watch how far her efforts pay off.

They don’t call him the Bollywood box-office emperor for no reason. With his latest film Bajarangi Bhaijaan surpassing the 100 crore mark all in just three days, Salman Khan became the country’s only actor to score eight hundred crore films. Released last Friday, Bajarangi Bhaijaan has netted 192.60 crores till Sunday.

What’s even more staggering is that all these 100 crore films are back to back releases, a feat which is hard to be broken. It all started with the 2010 blockbuster Dabangg, which netted 140.25 crores at the box-office. Then came the southern remakes Ready and Bodyguard, which netted close to 150 crores.

Salman then continued his devastating show at the box-office with Ek Tha Tiger and Dabangg 2, both his highest ever growing films. Then came the weakest performer of all, Jai Ho, a remake of Chiru’s Stalin, which again connected 108 crores. And finally came her another remake, Ravi Teja’s Kick 2, which is currently Salman’s all-time highest grossing film, which anyway looks to be broken by Bajarangi Bhaijaan with a week.

With two back to back blockbusters in his kitty with Baahubali and Bhajarangi Bhaijaan, senior writer Vijayender Prasad is undoubtedly the most in-demand writer in the country. The film, which has Bollywood box-office Czar Salman Khan, has garnered more than 70 crores in its opening weekend and the trade analysts have already declared the film a blockbuster.

Surprisingly, Salman was not the first star to be approached for the titular role a Bajarangi. The writer revealed that he first met and narrated the story to Aamir Khan, who loved the film thoroughly but could not do it due to lack of dates. The film’s co-producer, Rockline Venkatesh, then took the script to his Lingaa star Rajinikanth, Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar and our very own Stylish Star Allu Arjun.

However, all these stars refused to be a part of the film for various reasons and it was then the writer and the producer met Salman, who was moved by the film’s touching story and immediately green-lit the project and the rest is history. The film, an emotional story of an Indian man helping a young Pakistani girl cross the border, has struck all the right cords with the audiences and is declared as the best film in Salman’s career till date.

It’s seldom that director Ram Gopal Varma sticks on to one thing which he said a day earlier. He always throws ideas to the world without even thinking about what anyone would think about it. For him, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s 150th film is a laughing stock and eventually he’s becoming one by talking more about this project.

Latest idea thrown by RGV to mega camp is that Pawan Kalyan should direct the mighty 150th film under Ram Charan’s production. He said, “Mega-Baahubali is the only one that could beat Baahubali”. In the first place, Baahubali is a different film and beating that flick wouldn’t be the agenda of any star including Chiranjeevi. Next thing is that Pawan Kalyan’s direction sounds like a bad idea.

Already Pawan debuted with a  colossal failure like Jhonny and his second directorial venture never took off. Also he is not getting the script for his Gabbar Singh 2 right, and that’s why the huge delay in the start of this film. How could Pawan now finalise a script for 150th film and direct it, all in a short time? Seems highly impossible, even if Chiru himself handed over the mantle to Pawan Kalyan. Ram Gopal Varma’s ideas may look logical, but they should be sensible too.

Meanwhile, film industry says that Ramu is indirectly giving a message about the exit of Puri Jagan from 150th film. Ever since the news of Puri’s exit from the flick is doing rounds, this director started hinting several names including that of Rajamouli as a best bet and then Pawan Kalyan as another option now.

After a brief hiatus from playing lead roles, one of Bollywood’s leading ladies, Kareena Kapoor Khan, has returned to the silver screen with the stupendously successful Bhajrangi Bhaijaan. The film has collected over 70 crores in its opening weekend and is looking to rake in more moolah this week. Interacting with the media during a success meet, Kareena revealed her plans about motherhood.

“As of now there are no plans (to have children) and I am very clear about it. Of course I will be a mother someday but not for the next two three years. It is not even a thought,” Kareena said. The 34 year old actress also said that she is thoroughly cherishing every moment of her married life with Saif Ali Khan and that her immediate priority is her career.

Talking about her career, Kareena said that she has always been proud of her films and that she chose to do commercial films, despite being married as balancing commercial films and good entertaining films is very important for any actress.

Veteran actor and Movie Artistes’ Association (MAA) President Rajendra Prasad’s 59th birthday celebrations were celebrated grandly amid much fanfare in London yesterday. The unit of NTR-Sukumar’s film organized a lavish birthday party for the Nata Kireeti and the film’s hero NTR, director Sukumar and the producer BVSN Prasad were present at the do as Rajendra Prasad cut the cake.

Many fans in London attended the party to wish the senior actor. The yesteryear comedy star was looking dapper in a stylish beard and he is expected to complement NTR’s style quotient in Sukumar’s film. Rajendra Prasad will be playing NTR’s father in the film, which is tentatively titled Maa Nannaku Prematho.
