All of a sudden it looks like one particular humongous fan base has become a victim of satires, criticism and punches. There is no second thought in saying that ‘Mega Fans’ are the mightiest fan base any other heroes would have, but right now they are the ones who are taking brickbats from many quarters. A series of happenings are seriously upsetting them, and here goes the ordeal.

Couple of weeks back, when the news of Puri Jagan’s exit from 150th film has sprouted, it is fans who have faced the embarrassment. Whether the news of Vinayak replacing Jagan is mere work of gossip mills or not, few critics blasted Megastar Chiranjeevi for his unstable decisions and started connecting it to his political migrations from PRP to Congress. All these discussions happen on social network, and mega fans are at the end of taking the blame.

Later, Megastar lambasted AP CM Chandrababu for his hypocritical nature and accused him of making inadequate security arrangements that killed 30+ people at Pushkar Ghat in Rajahmundry. As Chiru asked Naidu to resign from CM post, critics lashed out at him on his uncalled-for comments rather helping out the victims. With Pawan Kalyan speaking only about victims and distancing from the political angle, once again Chiru faced brickbats as many critics asked him to learn from his younger brother. In this episode also, fans who supported Chiru suffered major criticism.

The other day anchor Anasuya claimed that fans of Allu Arjun are blaming her quite verbally in unparliamentarily language. Forget the language, but ‘mega fans’ got hurt the way Anasuya described Bunny in a recent interview. However Bunny’s close aide Bunny Vasu mentioned that their team is happy for Anasuya’s love towards Bunny and feigned ignorance of the whole episode. After batting on Bunny’s side for couple of days, this is a death blow to fans for sure.

On a closing note, we have to talk about director Ram Gopal Varma’s comments on twitter. He claims that Megastar is nothing before Baahubali and asked him to surrender the ‘mega’ tag. Also Ramu made fun of Chiru in all sorts by pointing out that 150th film is nothing if it is not on Baahubali’s scale. His senseless tweets have triggered a fan war online, where mega fans are at receiving end again.

Do all these happening prove how mega fans have become victims of criticism or not? At least some hero from the mighty family should give a retort to criticism on social network, rather interacting with couple of fans at Chiranjeevi blood bank. What say folks?

Needless to say, Baahubali is an epic of giant proportions. As the film managed to collection 235 crores gross already from worldwide box office, it looks like within next couple of weeks the collections might touch 300 crore too. Are these developments making this big hero unhappy?

“I’m happy that Baahubali is doing well and the film is really good. It’s collections are amazing. But I want our films to do that way at box office not theirs”. This is said by none other than Salman Khan the other day at the trailer launch event in Mumbai. Probably Salman Khan should remember the fact that ‘their’ films like Pokiri, Ready, Bodyguard and Kick have given him career best collections and also helped him to deliver continuous hit at box office. To remake you need Telugu movies, but a Telugu film clicks then you say I want our films to click not theirs. What sort of ideology is this Mr Salman?

Superstar Mahesh Babu was supposed to team up with legendary director Mani Ratnam on couple of occasions, but it misfired. Once they were actually trying to make Mahabharata kind film, but Mahesh gave up due to the intense body workout regiment that’s killing his handsomeness. Later Mani bounced a script that needs Mahesh and Nagarjuna on board, and that got stalled at early stages.

Finally Mani Ratnam has found relief as this script is said to be going on floors but not with Mahesh and Nagarjuna. Though this maverick director tried to cast in Ram Charan and Bunny, which didn’t materialised due to Charan not liking the script.

We hear that young heroes Karthi and Dulquer Salman have give nod for the film now. This will be second multi-starrer for Karthi after his ongoing film with Nagarjuna, while for Dulquer this second venture with Mani post “OK Bangaram”.

Only if this Karthi-Dulquer starrer comes out, we will know why Mani Ratnam’s choices Mahesh and Nagarjuna have rejected to star in the script. Meanwhile, Mahesh is busy with wrapping final parts of Srimanthudu, while Nag and Karthi are shooting for their Dost (tentative title) in Paris and Dulquer is taking part in the shoots of his next Malayalam film.

Director Ram Gopal Varma’s sensational comment has now become the talk of the town. Varma claimed that Baahubali protagonist Prabhas has got Rs 65 Crore as remuneration for the film’s Part I alone for his two years of effort. Ramu said that Prabhas didn’t take fee but he got Rs 65 Crore as share from the profits of Baahubali The Beginning.

“All us fools thought Prabhas did mistake gvng 2 yrs time without taking money nd now he’s getting 65 cr share frm profits of just part 1. Which star other than Prabhas ever got 65 cr and an ultra mega hit and then international recognition for just  2 years of work ?,” wrote Varma.

However, senior film journalists are differing with director Ram Gopal Varma’s statements. “Rs 65 Crore as remuneration for Prabhas for the part 1 of Baahubali alone is big joke. In fact, Prabhas’ fee wouldn’t even be close to half of the amount quoted by RGV. Varma’s claims are absolutely trash,” opined a film journalist on condition of anonymity.

Another senior journalist opined, “As per the available information, Prabhas was given the collections share of Tamil version. On whole, Prabhas would have got around Rs 14 to 15 Crore as fee and nothing more than that.” He added that all other cast in the film was paid decent pay, usually as per the market norms. So, Varma’s claim that Prabhas was paid a staggering remuneration of Rs 65 Crore is definitely seems to be big joke. What say folks?
