The star cast which includes Allu Arjun, Samantha, Nithya Menen and stalwarts like Prakash Raj, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Brahmanandam and late MS Narayana Rao.
MLAs Want More Salaries!
There is a general complaint that many of our MLAs are more interested in making money, rather than representing the problems of people in their respective constituencies in the Assembly. Except a few of them, most of the MLAs do not even raise issues in the Assembly.
And they get handsome pay from the government, besides huge perks. Yet, the MLAs are now demanding that the government increase their salaries on the ground that the prices of all commodities have gone up.
As if they are regular employees of a government undertaking, the MLAs want to submit a memorandum to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao seeking pay hike. Interestingly, the initiative was taken by TRS legislator Bala Raju.
He started a signature campaign on Saturday seeking pay hike and several legislators signed the memorandum. The Chief Minister had already proposed substantial raise in the salaries and perks of the ministers, Council members and legislators.
He said during the first session of the Telangana Assembly that ministers, MLAs and MLCs need more salaries to meet their expenditure. However, implementation of the proposal has been put on hold as the government felt that it would be embarrassing to increase salaries of the MLAs at a time when large number of farmers are committing suicide.
But after the recent hike salaries of public representatives of local bodies, the MLAs, too, want to raise their issue. Sources said that the MLAs were demanding Rs 3 lakh salary per month to them.
Hit Times Ahead For This Heroine
Some times, all it takes is the right opportunity to catapult a person from one level to the other. Now, Nithya Menon is on the brink of such change. It is already known that Nithya is part of S/O Satyamurthy.
Though there has been loads of speculation about her role in the film, it was kept under wraps and one got to know that she is playing the romantic lead opposite Allu Arjun only after seeing the first look poster.
Both of them are dressed in Spanish costumes, where Allu Arjun is dressed like a traditional Spanish bull fighter and Nithya is seen as a senorita serenading the fighter in a frilly gown.
All those who have seen the poster say that she will surely steal the limelight from the film’s actual heroine Samantha. Well, that remains to be seen but one thing is for sure. Now that she has hit a double whammy with Allu Arjun and Trivikram, her career is bound to go places once the film releases.
Akhil’s First Is Not A Socio-Fantasy
Akhil Akkineni who put in a few second cameo in the climax of Manam is now all set to debut with his full-length film. It has already been reported that it would be directed by VV Vinayak and that Sayesha Sehgal who is the grand niece of yesteryears Bollywood actress Saira Banu and Dilip Kumar will be playing his love interest in the film.
So, it was all along said that the film is a socio-fantasy which will remind one of Chiranjeevi-Sridevi film Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari.
The film’s story was said to be by Damarukam writer Veligonda Srinivas and the dialogues are being provided by Kona Venkat and Gopimohan. And it is being produced by hero Nithin along with his sister Nikhita Reddy.
Well, if one had high expectations, then, please get ready to tone them down. The latest news from the sets of this yet-to-be-titled film is that it is no socio-fantasy and that it will be a regular entertainer. TRS Fought For It, Sonia Gave It!
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday openly asked Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Council D Srinivas to clarify who fetched statehood to Telangana though it was delivered by benevolent AICC chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
The Council had gone into splits as KCR asked Srinivas to acknowledge the TRS fight for Telangana which was delivered by Congress chief Sonia Gandhi despite many odds. The Chief Minister today acknowledged that Telangana achieved statehood with generosity of Sonia Gandhi.
He turned tables on the Leader of the Opposition by saying that though the AICC Chief delivered the statehood, it was the TRS which got it through a protracted struggle for 14 years. “Sonia Gandhi’s bold decision of conceding statehood to Telangana despite many odds will remain in the history and there was no room for qualms or doubt about it”, KCR remarked.
The Chief Minister was replying to some questions posed by Leader of the Opposition D. Srinivas on statehood issue and the TRS should not forget the favor granted by Sonia despite all odds. “Indeed, it was Sonia Gandhi, who delivered statehood while the TRS involved all political parties, youth, students and all sections in the agitation”, KCR stated.
When the Leader of the Opposition said the TRS Government cannot ignore the magnanimity of the AICC chief, who took a daring decision to divide the State and accorded statehood to Telangana, the Chief Minister said, “Iindeed, we are indebted to Sonia Gandhi for her bold decision which should be honored and we welcome it. The entire Telangana people are aware of it and there should not be any doubt and suspicion on this”, he stated.
