Just Minutes before, lawmakers of the opposition Left Democratic Front (LDF) had clashed with the assembly’s Watch and Ward staff as they attempted to block all entrances into the assembly. The lawmakers pushed and toppled the Speaker’s chair and tore out his mic flinging it across the room.
Mr Mani, 81, read the Budget speech, the opposition’s lawmakers raised slogans against him, while those of the ruling United Democratic Front (UDF) cheered. Chief Minister Oomen Chandy was in the house. In some corners of the large hall, lawmakers were seen pushing each other.

The Great high drama began yesterday after the opposition vowed that it would not let Mr Mani present the Budget. They allege that the Finance Minister accepted a bribe of Rs. 1 crore to renew licences of bars that were shut down by the administration last year.
The minister, along with at least 70 of the ruling UDF’s 74 lawmakers, camped in a room of the state Assembly complex last night, to pre-empt the opposition. Only Chief Minister Oomen Chandy, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala and a woman MLA opted out. Opposition too reached the assembly premises in big numbers and stayed the night.
The chaos began early morning as they moved to stop Mr Mani from entering the assembly. The CPI-M led LDF has stepped up protests demanding Mr Mani’s resignation since the Budget Session began. Mr Mani, who belongs to the Kerala Congress (M), is a key ally of Oommen Chandy’s Congress-led government.

Will Upendra Fill Srihari’s Shoes?
Ever since the untimely demise of Srihari, there has been a vacuum in Tollywood. Kannada star Upendra might just fill that void courtesy of the movie ‘S/O Satyamurthy’. Upendra has quite a fan base in Telugu as well for his movies tend to be different although the average viewer might find them too realistic or gross.
His movies such as ‘A’ and ‘Upendra’ that were dubbed in Telugu did good business and created a fan base for him. But he could not quite become a regular in Tollywood although he is an established star in Kannada.
If s/o Satyamurthy is successful, it might revive the fortunes of Upendra and give him a permanent foothold in Tollywood as well. It will also be financially rewarding for Upendra as Tollwood is a far bigger industry than Kannada. Will he finally be the artiste who can step into Srihari’s shoes?

Style Diva and Actress Is Diabetic?
Diabetes is the silent killer these days and if people dread one disease then it is ending up having high or low sugar levels. While some have juvenile diabetes which is more or less mortal, others end up having diabetes as adults due to their genes and eating habits.
Now, it has emerged that this dreadful lifestyle disease has affected Bollywood’s style diva Sonam Kapoor. Recently, she was also hospitalized for being affected by swine flu. It has revealed that if one has diabetes then the chances of being affected by infectious diseases are also quite high.
It is known that Sonam Kapoor was not always the thin girl she is now. There was a time when she was quite obese. At the time, the doctors warned her that if she does not shed weight, she would end up being diabetic. So, Sonam lost very many kilos and evolved as the style icon of Bollywood.
Though women are usually less affected by diabetes, the fact remains that it does more harm to them than men. So, we hope that her sugar levels come under control and she mesmerizes people with her diva act.

A Hero Is More Popular Than A Director
Nani who will soon be seen in the title role in Evade Subramanyam confesses that a hero is any day more recognized than a director. He says that when it comes to mass audiences, nothing registers in their minds barring the hero who acts and fights to please them.
