Tit-for-Tat: TDP Procures KCR’s Call Data!
Ever since it came to know about the trap laid by TRS to nab Revanth Reddy, Telugu Desam Leaders have been looking for a right opportunity to settle scores and they seems to have found one at last.
Legislative Party leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao claims TDP have successfully procured the call records of KCR offering huge amount of cash to Legislators of other parties to win 5 MLC seats in the recent Council polls. ‘KCR lured MLAs with an amount of nearly Rs 20 crore each.
We have got the proofs. Even TDP rebel MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy who joined TRS recently was offered cash bags to shift the loyalties,’ he told, apart from informing the media about the plans to handover all the information to Centre.
Errabelli suspects a conspiracy behind Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy’s statement that ACB have in its possession recorded tapes of Chandrababu Naidu’s phone conversation with TRS nominated MLA. He accused Nayani of behaving in an irresponsible manner despite handling a crucial portfolio.
Meanwhile, The good news for TDP is the feedback it received from legal experts who assures evidence procured through sting operation will be treated as illegal as per Supreme Court’s ruling. On the other hand, ACB DG AK Khan will be in trouble for not seeking the permission of EC before setting the trap for a public representative when Model Code is in force due to MLC Polls.
Singham 123 Movie Review – 3/5
Social media sensation Sampoornesh Babu has made a splashy debut with Hrudaya Kaleyam followed by a brief cameo in Current Theega. Since then, there’s a huge anticipation for his second movie. After essaying a thief in his maiden movie, Sampoo wears a khaki and dons cop hat in Singham 123.
The two-minute-odd trailer turned many heads and set a big buzz among movie buffs. In addition, none other than actor-producer-educationalist Vishnu Manchu turned writer for this action spoof garnering curiosity.
Story :
Singham (Sampoo) is a powerful, angry police inspector who is transferred to Singarayakonda on a mission to end the criminal acts of Lingam (Bhavani). Singham learns that he has a past connected to Singarayakonda and his father Jangam (Prithvi) was eliminated by Lingam. Singham is determined to take revenge and vanish Lingam. In between, Singham has a love-interest Chandini (Sanam Prasad). What forms rest is Singham 123.
Performances:
Sampoo in his usual style tickled the funny bones of the viewers. His nuances keep you hooked and it’s not often you hear the kind of jokes Sampoo cracked in Singham 123 which give you a real belly laugh. Sampoo’s spoofs of big heroes make this movie a laugh riot. Sanam Prasad is okay and easy on the eyes. Actor Prithvi’s presence is an additional advantage. The movie should be watch out for the banters exchanged between Sampoo, Prithvi. Bhavani as an antagonist fits the bill.
Technicalities:
Writer-producer Vishnu recruited good director, cast. Director Ajay Sharma decently directed the movie and lives up to the expectations the film generated with its hilarious trailer. Music and Re-recording enhances the experience and makes the movie a pleasant watch. The crisp editing comes in handy for the film.
Thumbs Up
- Story, Screenplay
- Sampoo’s Nuances
- Spoofs
Thumbs Down
- Romance between lead pair
- No Logics
Analysis:
Telugu movie lovers have been fascinated towards spoofs. Spoofs might not be new, but catering yet another spoof movie is not an easy task. One should laud the audacity of producer Vishnu for doing it perfectly and roping in Sampoo to carry off the film on his shoulders.
Appreciate newcomer director Ajay Sharma who churned out the movie like an experienced filmmaker. Vishnu’s fast-paced screenplay keeps the movie going without any drag. Like any other revenge drama, Singham 123 doesn’t has a great story. But it’s enough to entertain the crowds in B & C centres and even engage the multiplex audience as well.
No-holds-barred spoof scenes are hilarious. References to hit Telugu movies and their hit scenes are fun to watch on big screen. Sampoo didn’t spare Telugu stars like Allu Arjun, Balakrishna, Pawan Klayan and these are expected to keep one in splits. Watch it without asking any logics and definitely it’s going to be a laugh feast.
Bottomline: Get Ready for Belly Laugh

Didn’t Any Heroes Help Nara Rohit?
Now one need not introduce Nara Rohit once again, his relationship with AP CM is well-known. In fact, it is this link that helped him get into films in the first place.
Till now, he has been working with people who are close to his family and has been trying to produce films on his own. However, he hasn’t had a proper hit till date.
Given this background, Nara Rohit has turned a producer himself and made Asura and the film is releasing today.
Speaking about the film, Rohit has announced that Adivi Sesh has given the voice over for the film. But one thing is for sure, while Adivi Sesh’s gesture is laudable, he is not of the stature to give a voice over as voice overs are usually given by people who have name and fame. In fact, big heroes give voice over for each other.
Naturally, Adivi Sesh’s voice over will not be an asset to the film. Since it is his own production, Rohit should have made more efforts to get a better actor to give voice over. Wonder if Rohit tried to approach better actors?

AP Deputy CM Dares Telangana To Book Naidu
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister N. Chinnarajappa on Friday dared the Telangana government to book Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the cash-for-vote scam.
Chinnarajappa also challenged Telangana Home Minister N. Narasimha Reddy to make public the audio tapes of Naidu’s alleged conversation with the nominated legislator of Telangana.
He told reporters in Rajahmundry that they will complain to the central government about the phone tapping by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government in Hyderabad, the common capital of the two states.
Chinnarajappa, who holds the home portfolio, was reacting to Narasimha Reddy’s allegation that Naidu was involved in the cash-for-vote scam.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) legislator in Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, was arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on May 31 in Hyderabad when he was offering Rs.50 lakh to nominated legislator Elvis Stephenson to make him vote for the TDP-BJP candidate in the Telangana legislative council elections.
The Telangana home minister has claimed that the police have evidence that Naidu also spoke to Stephenson.
Chinnarajappa alleged that the TRS and YSR Congress party hatched a conspiracy to implicate Naidu in a false case.
He wanted to know why Stephenson was not arrested while Revanth Reddy was booked and taken into custody.
The Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister said it was the TRS which used illegal methods to woo opposition legislators.
He said with 63 legislators, the TRS was in a position to win three or four seats in the council but it secured five seats as the party polled 20 more votes.
He demanded a probe into the additional votes polled by TRS candidates.

ACB all set to sue Chandrababu?
Amidst the shocking arrest of the T-TDP leader Revanth Reddy, the Anti Corruption bureau is all set to serve notices to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for his involvement in the case. However, this will be done only after interrogating Revanth Reddy and the other accused in this case.
Even though the ACB has the evidence of the telephone conversation of Chandrababu and the nominated MLA Stephenson, it is trying to boost up he evidence and with a perfect plan to attack Chandrababu.
According to a leading daily, ACB has sorted out that Rs 50 lakhs was given to Stephenson out of Rs 2.5 crores drawn by an unknown person from a bank near NTR Trust Bhavan.
The ACB is now trying to trace the unknown person and the other MLAs who were bribed. ACB claimed that tedious interrogation can bring out some shocking truths. Digging it another way, ACB has collected an evidence regarding the “boss” in the video footage and in Revanth’s recent interview he said that Chandrababu is his boss. So, what do you think?
Maggi Ban: All That You Wanted To Know
Even though it proudly boasts of a catchy tagline, “Taste bhi aur Health bhi”, the FMCG Giant Maggi noodles is now stuck in an unexpected fiasco.
During the end of May, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India of the Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki division test a few samples of the FMCG giant Maggi, and the tests showed excess of Monosodium Glutamate (MSG) and lead, taste enhancers found in packaged foods, in the Maggi noodles, advising the UP government to ban the selling and consuming of Maggi noodles until the FSSAI submits a clear report.
The reports showed that the MSG is 8 times higher than the permissible limits, which will lead to failure of nervous system, learning and thinking disorders, lessening of blood in children while excess lead leads to frequent headaches etc over a chronic period of consumption.
These reports led to intense public protests and after the Indian Army and the Delhi Government banned the selling of Maggi in the market, several states like Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal,Bihar and lately Telangana followed suit and banned Maggi until a standard report from the FSSAI.
This ban on India’s most favorite snack for 40 years made its CEO Paul Bulcke fly down to India and address the company’s loyal customers whose faith in the product has weaken thoroughly. In a press conference earlier today, Bulcke said that Nestle has been in India for the last 100 years and that the company is an integral part of India.
Explaining further, the Nestlé’s CEO said that the MSG found inthe samples is not separately instilled by the company but is naturally found in its ingredients like hydrolyzed groundnut protein, onion powder and atta (wheat flour).
This whole ban resulted in a severe loss to one of the world’s most favorite food brand. The company has so far lost close to 10,000 crores of its market cap in just five trading sessions, with the Nestle shares going down at an alarming rate of 15% from Rs 7,038.65 to Rs 6,010.80.
Already, Nestle withdrew nine variants of Maggi from the market upon the FSSAI’s orders until the state and federal authorities final call on its status once the final report is submitted by the FSSAI.
On the other hand, loyal customers who can’t imagine their day without Maggi noodles have been extending their support to their favorite ‘2 Minute snack’.
Asura Movie Review – 3.5/5
Nara Rohith has been doing different movies with unique storylines. He hasn’t tasted big commercial success yet but has pinned lot of hopes on Asura as he believed that it has the necessary commercial elements to succeed at the box office.
Story :
Dharma (Nara Rohith) is a sincere jailer who always keeps his prison in order. A notorious criminal Charlie (Ravi Varma) who is facing death sentence is transferred to Dharma’s jail. Charlie plans to escape from the prison and Dharma should make sure that justice prevails.
Perfomances:
Nara Rohith is intense in the role of a powerful cop. His body language and dialog delivery stands out. He is believable in the role of a jailer who goes to any end for the sake of justice. Priya Benarjee has limited scope in the film and she did alright. Ravi Varma got a meaty role. His performance is neat without any flaws. Most of the remaining starcast are either television artists or little known actors. They have done what they can within their limitations.
Technicalities:
Director Krishna Vijay has come up with a different story. He didn’t bank on regular commercial elements and comedy for his first film. However he couldn’t get the execution entirely right. This could have been an edge of the seat thriller but the director doesn’t do complete justice to the script. There are few flaws on the direction front that didn’t allow this film to rise above the average mark.
Songs are completely unnecessary. But Sai Karthik’s background score is good. Cinematography is neat. Editing could have been crisper despite the short running time. Producers should be lauded for trying something different from the usual stuff.
Thumbs Up:
- Nara Rohith
- Story
- Climax
Thumbs Down:
- Slow Pace
- Second Half Drags
Analysis:
Asura is not for everyone. This film is targeted at the audience who love to watch concept based movies. This film focuses only on the conflict between the good and bad and doesn’t deviate from it for most of the time. There is a romantic track that keeps on interrupting the main story at times. Apart from that Asura stays focused on the main plot.
There isn’t any comedy track or out of the world action in the film to please masses. It is a laudable and daring attempt from the makers as they didn’t incline towards commercial elements for the sake of succeeding at the ticket windows. The sincerity shown is commendable however the film is not entirely appealing. The plot has potential but is not dealt in a way that it arrests the audience all along.
Second half slides down after a neatly done first half. Director throws in a surprising twist that saves the day for Asura. This may not be the film that could mint money at the box office as it lacks the entertainment that the majority audiences look out for. It is a sincere and honest attempt that will appeal to niche audience. Nara Rohith has once again come up with a film that has potential but the director lets him down with just okay execution.
Verdict: Different but not Great.
