Hyderabad High Court had dismissed the petition of Andhra Settlers Forum raising the objections over the title of Akash Puri’s debut film, Andhra Pori. The court felt that the petitioner is being unreasonable to the film and opined there is no need to change the film title.

With this all the decks were cleared to release the film on Friday. It may be reminded to our readers that Forum for AP Settlers in Telangana approached the high court with the objection over the film title saying that it hurts the sentiment of AP people and show AP girls in poor light.

Andhra Pori’ is a beautiful love story of teenagers of age 16-17 years. It is a remake of Marathi blockbuster film ‘Timepass’ which broke many existing records during the time of its release. Ulka Gupta who is popular with daily soaps like Jhansi Ki Rani is the leading lady.

This is the next venture of director Raj Madiraju after the critically acclaimed film ‘Rushi’. Chairman of Prasad Studios, Ramesh Prasad, who produced many beautiful films on Prasad Productions banner, is producing the film. Dr.Josyabhatla, who had a PhD in music, provided music for this film.

The much delayed Gunasekhar’s Rudramma Devi will be finally seeing light on June 26th. The film’s production was completed a long ago and audio is also released but Guna kept on postponing the film owing to bad business.

Finally all the problems seem to have sorted out. Rudramma Devi is said to be India’s historical stereoscopic 3D film in which Anushka will play the title role while Rana will play the role of Chalukya Veerabhadrudu, the prince of Nidavardhyapuram (Present Nidadavole).

Allu Arjun is roped in to the project for the role of Gona Ganna Reddy to increase some hype. Catherine Tresa will pair up with Allu Arjun in the role of Anamika Devi. Guna himself is producing the movie and had roped in some top class technicians on to the project.

Maestro Ilayaraja is the music composer. Thota Tharani has erected all the sets for this historical film.

The Lingaa controversy is refusing to die down and continue to irk Superstar Rajinikanth and his fans. The distributors have lost hell lot of money on the film which is a miserable flop. They held a series of discussions with the makers regarding a compensation package.

It is agreed that they will be paid 12.5 Crores as compensation by Rajinikanth himself. Tamil film producers Council mediated in this issue. However even after 6 months of the movie release, the distributors did not get any compensation.

The distributors on Wednesday held one more press conference in Chennai and stated that the bigwigs in the film industry cheated them terribly. They further threated to hold a hughe protest before Rajini’s house starting from 13th June, if the makers fail to compensate them within the deadline.

It’s time for Filmfare nominations. After National Awards and Nandi Awards, Filmfare mania holds that distinct craze among celebrities as they always to win the Black Lady to feel special. Like every year, the nominations for Filmfare 2014 Best Film Awards are going to dice a surprise for people who expected something else.

Commercial entertainers that have both excited audiences and filled pockets of producers are always the top picks for nomination. For Best Film nominations, we hear that Allu Arjun and Surender Reddy’s “Race Gurram”, along with Nagarjuna-Vikram Krishna’s Akkineni multi starrer “Manam” are the prime competitors. Both the films have a fair share of success story, and decent profits are made post the final collections.

A surprise biggie that entered into competition is none other than Venkatesh’s “Drishyam”, which happens to be a money spinning remake. There are couple of other biggies like Balayya’s “Legend”, Ram Charan’s “Yevadu” and Raviteja’s “Power” that are expecting a nomination for their commercial success but the award-nominations committee hasn’t favoured any of them.

Two other nominations are stuffed into the Best Film category and they are the real shockers. Small budgeted films made by newcomer directors “Run Raja Run” and “Karthikeya” are now posing trouble for the above three biggies. For their refreshing screenplay, entertaining subject and gripping narrative, these two films of Sharwanand and Nikhil have found a place in the list of competing films. Directors of all these five films are nominated for Best Director award.

It’s quite shocking that an award winning movie like “Chandamama Kathalu” hasn’t found place in Best Film nominations.

News is that megastar Chiranjeevi is upset with Puri Jagannadh who will soon be directing Chiranjeevi’s 150th film which has been titled Auto Jaani.

However, it is said that Chiranjeevi is unhappy with Puri Jagannadh for deciding to work with Nithin before taking up Auto Jaani.

The film is expected to go on the floors in August and Chiranjeevi feels that Puri is not spending enough time on the film’s pre-production work and he is instead going ahead with Nithin’s film.

Also, the megastar had suggested some changes to the script, which was said to have been inspired by an earlier film. And Puri had promised Chiranjeevi that he would rework and get back to him with the final script.

It is being said that Auto Jaani might get delayed by a few months due to this. However, a source close to the mega family says that Puri plans to meet Chiranjeevi before he starts Nithin’s film.

Meanwhile, though Nithin and Puri last worked on Heart Attack, Nithin waited for Puri since the release of his last film Chinnadana Nee Kosam. It is being said that Puri narrated a script to Nithin and he immediately gave his nod.

Now Puri is already on a look out for supporting cast for Nithin’s film and it is being said that he is on the lookout for a new heroine. Since he recently completed Charmme’s Jyothilakshmi, Puri will be retaining the same technical team for Nithin’s film and will be producing the film on his home banner Puri Talkies.

Malayali actress Pearle Maaney will be making her Telugu debut with actor Naga Shaurya in an upcoming as-yet untitled romantic entertainer, which is being helmed by filmmaker Nandini Reddy.

“Pearle has been roped in as the second heroine. She joined the sets recently and has also shot some scenes. The team will soon shoot a song with her,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.

Malavika Nair, who was recently seen in Telugu drama “Yevade Subramanyam”, plays the main lead.

The film is produced by Damodar Prasad, who had launched Nandini with her hit film “Ala Modalaindi”.
