Posani Arrested – Will Jagan Come to His Aid?

Senior actor and former politician Posani Krishna Murali is now facing the consequences of his past actions, particularly his controversial remarks against Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan in support of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. With multiple cases filed against him in Andhra Pradesh, Posani was arrested by Rayachoti Police last night and is currently awaiting legal proceedings.
Although Posani has distanced himself from politics in recent times, it is well known that he was once a staunch supporter of Jagan Mohan Reddy and a vocal critic of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Chandrababu Naidu. During his association with YSR Congress, he frequently targeted Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan, often resorting to controversial and inflammatory remarks.
Now that Posani has been taken into custody for crossing the line with his public comments, all eyes are on Jagan Mohan Reddy to see whether he will extend any support. Just last week, Jagan had to visit Vallabhaneni Vamsi in jail, following his arrest in a kidnapping case. With Posani now also facing possible judicial remand, there is speculation on whether Jagan will visit him as well.
This situation raises a pertinent question—will Jagan’s repeated jail visits impact his political image? If he continues to be associated with individuals facing legal action, it could reinforce the perception that he supports those accused of misconduct, further affecting the public’s view of his leadership.
India Reaffirms Jammu & Kashmir’s Integral Status, Criticizes Pakistan at UN

In a strongly worded address at the seventh meeting of the 58th Session of the UN Human Rights Council on February 27, India reaffirmed its stance on Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, condemning Pakistan’s ongoing misinformation campaign. Kshitij Tyagi, representing the Permanent Mission of India to the UN in Geneva, emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir, along with Ladakh, will always remain an integral part of India, underscoring the progress made in these regions in recent years.
Tyagi took aim at Pakistan’s leadership, accusing them of perpetuating false narratives driven by a “military-terrorist complex.” He stated that Pakistan’s repeated efforts to malign India’s sovereignty over Jammu and Kashmir were unsurprising, given the state’s history of instability and reliance on international aid.
“The unprecedented political, social, and economic progress in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh over the past few years speaks for itself,” Tyagi said. “These successes are a testament to the trust the people have in the government’s commitment to bring normalcy to a region that has long been affected by Pakistan-sponsored terrorism.”
Further criticising Pakistan’s actions, Tyagi pointed out that the country’s continued use of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as a mouthpiece was undermining the credibility of international organizations. He termed Pakistan a “failed state” that thrives on instability, surviving primarily on foreign aid while disregarding the welfare of its citizens.
“Pakistan must move past its unhealthy obsession with India and focus on addressing the pressing issues affecting its own people,” Tyagi added, emphasizing India’s commitment to democracy, progress, and the dignity of its citizens—values he suggested Pakistan could benefit from adopting.
These comments come in the wake of India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish’s remarks on February 19, where he too reaffirmed India’s stance on Jammu and Kashmir during a session at the United Nations Security Council. Harish condemned Pakistan’s continued misinformation efforts, reaffirming that Jammu and Kashmir is, and will always be, an integral part of India.
India’s consistent stand on this issue highlights its unwavering commitment to the sovereignty of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, despite repeated efforts by Pakistan to challenge India’s position on the international stage.
KTR and South Leaders Oppose Population-Based Delimitation

The Government of India is pushing for the delimitation of constituencies based on population figures, sparking widespread criticism, particularly from Southern states. Many leaders argue that redrawing constituencies solely on population count is unfair to states that have successfully implemented family planning policies. Now, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has added his voice to the opposition against the Centre’s move.
Supporting Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin’s stance, KTR stressed that Southern states should not be penalized for adhering to family planning measures when the nation needed them the most. He stated that executing delimitation without recognizing the efforts of these states goes against the principles of democracy and federalism. KTR proposed that if delimitation is necessary, it should be based on fiscal contributions to the nation instead. He highlighted that while Telangana constitutes only 2.8% of India’s population, it contributes over 5.2% to the country’s GDP.
KTR also pointed out that Southern states accounted for 26.2% of India’s population in 1951, but their share had declined to 19.8% by 2022, showcasing their commitment to population control. Echoing similar concerns, CM Stalin emphasized that delimitation is not just a matter for Tamil Nadu but for all of South India. He argued that the process should not punish states that have successfully controlled population growth, led in development, and made significant contributions to national progress. Stalin called for a fair, transparent, and equitable approach that upholds the values of federalism.
With increasing resistance from South Indian leaders, the debate over delimitation continues to gain momentum. Many believe that a more balanced approach should be adopted, considering economic contributions alongside population metrics.

Egypt Rejects Gaza Administration Proposal, Affirms Support for Palestinian Sovereignty

Cairo, Feb 27 (IANS) – Egypt has firmly rejected proposals suggesting its temporary administration of the Gaza Strip, reaffirming its steadfast position on a comprehensive, lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, through spokesperson Tamim Khalaf, characterized such proposals as “half-solutions” that would only perpetuate the cycle of conflict rather than leading to permanent peace.
Khalaf stressed Egypt’s unwavering commitment to the principles that form the foundation of the Egyptian and Arab stance on the Palestinian issue. He emphasized the inseparable nature of Palestinian territories, highlighting that Gaza, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem are essential components of the future Palestinian state. These territories, he insisted, must remain under full Palestinian sovereignty and administration.
The remarks came in response to a proposal by Israeli Opposition leader Yair Lapid. On Tuesday, Lapid suggested a minimum eight-year term for an Egyptian administration over Gaza as part of a broader security mechanism that would involve Israel, Egypt, the United States, and Arab countries. The proposal, which Lapid framed as a solution to the current crisis in Gaza, also envisioned the settlement of Egypt’s foreign debt by the international community as an incentive for taking on the administration.
While Lapid argued that Egypt had historical experience administering Gaza from 1948 to 1967, he did not provide detailed specifics on how the proposed security coordination would function. He also indicated that the proposal had not been directly discussed with Egyptian officials, but had been shared with leaders across the region.
Egypt’s rejection of the proposal underscores its long-standing position that any solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict must preserve Palestinian territorial integrity and sovereignty. The Egyptian government has consistently opposed any plan that seeks to displace Palestinians from their historical homeland, such as the controversial plan proposed by former US President Donald Trump, which called for the relocation of Palestinian populations to Egypt and Jordan.
In response to the ongoing devastation in Gaza, Egypt is preparing a comprehensive plan for rebuilding the territory without displacing its people. Cairo has called for international support to assist in the reconstruction efforts while maintaining the core principle of Palestinian self-determination.
Furthermore, Egypt will host an emergency Arab Summit on March 4 to discuss strategies for supporting the Palestinian cause and advancing the pursuit of a just and lasting peace based on a two-state solution.
Egypt’s commitment to Palestinian sovereignty and its rejection of proposals that undermine it are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the regional response to the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
Sundeep Kishan’s Majaka Opens Well – Could Music Have Boosted It Further?

Sundeep Kishan and Ritu Varma’s latest film, Majaka, hit theaters on February 26 and opened to a decent start at the box office. Directed by Trinadha Rao Nakkina, who previously delivered the blockbuster Dhamaka, the film managed to pull in respectable numbers on its opening day. In fact, this marks one of Sundeep’s better openings in recent times.
However, there’s a strong argument that the film’s pre-release hype and box office potential could have been significantly higher if one key technician had been part of the team—music composer Bheems Ceciroleo.
Bheems, who delivered a chartbuster album for Dhamaka, has been a crucial factor in boosting films with his mass-friendly music. His latest work in Sankranthiki Vasthunnam further proved his ability to enhance a film’s appeal. Given that Trinadha Rao himself played a role in reintroducing Bheems to mainstream Telugu cinema with Dhamaka, it is surprising that he wasn’t brought on board for Majaka.
While Leon James, the film’s music composer, has done a commendable job, there’s no denying that Bheems’ signature style could have provided the film with a much stronger musical identity. Music and background score play a pivotal role in mid-range films, and a hit album could have given Majaka an extra push in terms of buzz and audience anticipation before release.
Despite this, the film has opened decently, and it remains to be seen how it holds up at the box office in the coming days.
