Gifting a sweet-box on the eve of Diwali is a norm being followed by many companies in India from a long time. Telugu media houses in Hyderabad are no exception as they every year celebrate the occasion by distributing tasty and costly sweets to their employees. And now, this sweet box distribution has become a prestigious issue.
A popular TV channel has given its employees a gift pack from famous ‘Karachi Bakery’, whose price is nearly 1400 rupees. After coming to know about this, another rival channel has gifted its staff with ‘Delhiwala’ sweet boxes along with imported French chocolates, whose cost must be upto 2000 rupees. These two channels have last year distributed ‘Haldirams’ Papidi boxes that cost less than 150 rupees each. But competition made these two channels change their mindsets when it comes to gifting these sweet boxes.
Telugu Man wins in Maharashtra Elections
It is always an achievement for a person to make his mark felt in another state other than his native region. According to the latest a Telugu man attracted the attention of all by winning the elections in the recently concluded Maharashtra assembly polls.
Dwarmpudi Mallikarjuna Ramireddy who contested on BJP ticket from Ramtek constituency emerged victorious in the recent elections. He is the son in law of Suryabhaskar Reddy, native of Muppatripadu village, Ganapavaram Mandal, East Godavari district.
Mallikarjuna Ramireddy has been serving the people of Ramteck in a selfless manner through various NGOs and social service organisations. People of his village are proud of his achievement in Maharashtra.
Talk Of Town: Powerstar’s Double Show with ‘Kaththi’
Finally, after ripping through all the hurdles, Kollywood’s Powerstar Vijay made it to theatres as promised with his ‘Kaththi’ directed by AR Murugadoss. As the duo has delivered a smashing ‘Tupaki’ for Diwali 2012, they are expecting to repeat a similar fate for this year’s lights festival too. As reported earlier, Vijay played a dual role in the movie of which one is a conman and the other one is a social activist. ‘Kaththi’ is said to be high on emotional dose rather loads of entertainment. While first of is little slow in narration, second half portrayed the best of Murugadoss’ directorial brilliance. Vijay is brilliant with his dual roles, while fans like his conman role, serious movie lovers empathize with the activist role where he quizzes about corruption, farmer suicides and social responsibility of corporate companies. This double treat from Vijay should surely overwhelm his fan bases. Telugu version of Kaththi, titled the same, will hit screens on October 31st.
Hudhud: NRI TDP NJ Chapter raises $25,000
NRI TDP New Jersey have successfully conducted HudHud Cyclone relief Fund Raising Event in a spectacular manner at Coriander restaurant, New Jersey. Honorable TDP MLA (Ponnur Constituency) Mr. Narendra Dhulipalla graced the event as Chief Guest. Power Star to Dazzle as Director?
Power Star Pawan Kalyan bowled people cutting across all genders to become ‘Power Star’ with his performance on Tollywood silver screen. Coupled with his good nature, many became his fans propagating what is known as ‘Pawanism’ surprising everyone.
Now in a more delightful news it is coming out that Pawan is all set to dazzle as director. Buzz is Pawan is planning to direct his upcoming entertainer Gabbar Singh 2.
Pawan according to sources is teaming with Loukyam writer Sridhar Seepana and also asked Sampath Nandi to continue explore other offers as Gabbar Singh 2 script is getting delayed. Buzz is Pawan will be sitting with Sridhar Seepana to make Gabbar Singh 2 a rocking entertainer.
A source says “It would be rocking entertainer and Pawan would be prove himself as a perfect commercial filmmaker with Gabbar singh 2 and silence his detractors”. Pawan’s earlier venture Jhonny didnot do well at the box office.

Tamil hero Vishal who had tasted few good hits in Telugu has been failing to make a mark at Tollywood box office in the recent past. His latest film directed by Hari is dubbed in Telugu as Pooja.
Story :
Srinivas (Vishal) locks horns with a criminal called Singannapatrudu (Mukesh Tiwary) as the latter messes with his family. Srinivas beats Singanna in a public place to which the latter seeks revenge on the former. Srinivas needs to safeguard his family from Singanna. How does Srinivas saves his family from Singanna forms rest of the story.
Performances:
Vishal: It is cakewalk for Vishal to play a hot blooded youth. He is very good in action sequences and has impressed in his scenes with Shruti. Vishal did complete justice to his character.
Shruti Haasan: Shruti Haasan gets a chance to play a notable role amid action drama. She is good as the female lead and definitely one of the major positives of this film.
Others: Satya Raj is fine as the police officer. Mukesh Tiwary is very good in the antagonist role. It is good to see someone different from the usual villains. Radhika did a dignified character. Jayaprakash, Sitara and Kausalya are impressive among the supporting cast. Soori gets on your nerves with loud comedy. Andrea sizzled in an item song.
Technicalities:
Direction: Hari is known for churning out commercial entertainers at will. He plays to the galleries with Pooja by inserting lot of action episodes. He tried his best to make Pooja an engaging watch by using his experience, but sadly the script is too weak. Hari has to blame himself for coming up with a story that doesn’t have any substance in it. He showed sparks of brilliance here and there, but on a whole Pooja makes a tedious watch.
Others: Vishal’s production values are good and so is the cinematography. Priyan’s work in action scenes is pretty impressive. Editing is not up to the mark. The film drags too much towards the end. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is mediocre. Background score is good though.

Analysis:
Hari who has the reputation of making mass friendly commercial entertainers tried to pull off yet another masala flick by using his tricks. He tries too hard to impress with a very weak script. Few action sequences have come out well and that is the only positive in this film besides able star cast.
It will be a big test to sit through the film right from the word go. Things get better towards the interval point and we expect a thrilling war between the protagonist and antagonist in the second half. Confrontation scenes between them are somewhat better than the remaining junk, but it gets repetitive after a while.
Mother-Son thread is left underdeveloped. Director should have made use of this thread instead of wasting time on stupid comedy scenes. Romance between Shruti and Vishal is a boring fare. Shruti’s parents behave very awkwardly to make that part even uglier. Director could have ended this film at any point after the interval. But he keeps on dragging to increase the pain of audience.
Pooja may appeal to audience who love to watch endless action scenes and a tug of war between the hero and villain. We have seen better commercial movies than Pooja and even Vishal has some very good action flicks to his credit. Pooja is a boring film that tries too hard to hold the interest of audience. Watch it at your own risk.

Power to AP offices to cut off in Telangana
Power war between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is taking serious turn after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu wrote a letter to Krishna Tribunal to stop power generation at Srisailam power project.
TRS MLAs and MLCs who potested against Chandra Babu’s decision doing a dharna at Ambedkar Statue, Tankbund lashed out at Chandra Babu and TDP party for troubling Telangana even though Telangana government is cooperating with it completely.
They said Andhra Pradesh is taking decisions against the interest of Telangana on power issue and it started with Chandra Babu cancelling all previous agreements and now writing a letter to Krishna Tribunal. They said Union Government is supporting Chandra Babu’s dictatorial ways.
They asked Telangana TDP MLAs to protest against Chandra Babu’s house to solve Telangana problem. They warned that if it continues, they will stop power supply to AP offices in Hyderabad. MLAs Odelu, Lakshma Reddy, MLCs Bhanu Prasad,Salim,Sudhakar Reddy and others participated in the protests.

If Jayalalitha & current ruling Paneerselvam Govt agrees to take over this plant than in Tamil Nadu Amma mobiles will be available for Rs 700 and the Paneerselvam Govt could distribute these mobiles in retail stores free of cost. How Mega fans disappointed Rakul Preet Singh?
Rakul Preet Singh is one of the most happening heroine in Tollywood right now. She is evolving more and more with every film, thereby name and fame are coming her way. However she was very disappointed at a cruel joke circulated by few Mega fans. Going in to the details, the actress is a big fan of Pawan Kalyan and always revealed her wish to pair up with the Power Star in all of her interviews.
Some of the senior Mega fans on Twitter have passed on the Tweets that Rakul Preet Singh is selected as the heroine beside Pawan Kalyan in his next, Gabbar Singh-2. May media houses took it for real and circulated the news. But the irony is that Rakul was never approached. But seeing the news in major media she was tempted and also contacted the movie team if they are considering her.
But NO came the answer. Rakul Preet Singh is really disappointed and dejected. Responding to reports that she was roped in for Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh 2, Rakul clarified that ‘She is pleasantly surprised with those rumours. In fact disappointed that they are only rumours but is praying that the rumour should come true’. Pawan Kalyan’s Gabbar Singh was in offing for more than an year and the film’s muhurtham was held several months ago but there is no official buzz whatsoever regarding the film.
