Janhvi Kapoor continues to face challenges in establishing a strong foothold in Bollywood despite years of consistent effort. Her latest release, Param Sundari, directed by Tushar Jalota and co-starring Sidharth Malhotra, was anticipated to be a turning point in her career. Unfortunately, the film fails to deliver both critically and commercially.
The narrative follows a young innovator, Param, who develops an app to match individuals with their ideal life partners. During a demonstration of the app, he falls in love with a girl in Kerala, only to discover that she is already engaged. The plot unfolds in a highly predictable manner, offering little in terms of suspense or novelty.
While Janhvi Kapoor delivers a sincere and capable performance as the Malayali girl, the film’s outdated storytelling, lackluster humor, and recycled plot points overshadow her efforts. Sidharth Malhotra’s portrayal remains routine, offering no memorable moments. Even the music by Sachin-Jigar, although pleasant, fails to elevate the overall experience.
Overall, Param Sundari struggles to engage the audience and ends up testing patience more than entertaining. As Bollywood continues to challenge her trajectory, many suggest that Janhvi may find more promising opportunities in Telugu cinema, where she has already showcased her talent successfully.
