Samuthirakani Plans Directorial Comeback in Tollywood
Kollywood actor Samuthirakani has become quite popular in Tollywood in a short span, thanks to his versatile performances and unique screen presence. Whether it’s a supporting role or a lead character, he brings depth and impact to every part he plays. Beyond acting, Samuthirakani is also a talented director, having left a creative mark behind the camera as well. However, he is more celebrated as an actor than as a filmmaker, with notable works across Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada industries.
In recent years, Samuthirakani has been focusing more on Telugu films. As a director, he attempted to establish himself in Tollywood with Bro, starring Sai Dharam Tej and Pawan Kalyan. Though the film performed moderately at the box office, it helped him showcase his directorial skills. However, Samuthirakani has been relatively absent from Telugu screens of late, leading many to wonder about his current pursuits.
Reports suggest that Samuthirakani is now actively committing to projects in other languages, particularly Tamil, while strategically planning his return to Telugu — not as an actor, but as a director. He has already secured a film with Pawan Kalyan, who reportedly promised to work with him after being impressed by the making of Bro. Samuthirakani is currently working on crafting a solid script for the Power Star.
Additionally, he is said to be preparing stories keeping other Telugu star heroes in mind, indicating a clear intent to build his directorial presence in Tollywood. While Pawan’s current focus is on Ustaad Bhagat Singh, his next project is yet to be confirmed. If all goes well, Samuthirakani might just get the opportunity to direct Pawan in his next venture — something that seems inevitable given their prior collaboration.
