Andhra Pradesh witnessed urban local bodies (ULB) elections for 12 municipal corporations and 71 municipalities today. Andhra Pradesh’s State Election Commission made all the required arrangements to see that the elections are held smoothly.
Along with eligible voters, politicians have also cast their votes and urged everyone to exercise their vote in the civic body polls. Not less than As many as 78.71 lakh voters are expected to cast their votes.
Actor-turned-politician, Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan exercised his vote in Vijayawada Municipal Corporation elections. He cast his vote at the polling booth set up in ZP Girls High School in Vijayawada’s Patamata Lanka area.
After casting his vote, Pawan Kalyan posed with ink on his finger. He appealed to the voters to not miss the opportunity to exercise their voting right.
Ruling YSRCP and opposition TDP are aiming to win the three crucial Municipal Corporations, Guntur, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam. Strong candidates have been fielded in these Corporations by both parties.
As per the schedule, the Urban Local Body polls were supposed to be held in March last year. Due to the pandemic outbreak, the polls were halted midway. These elections will be the last elections as SEC for Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar.——-
