Pawan Kalyan, once known for his strong socialist ideals, has gradually embraced a stoic and unapologetic support for Sanathana Dharma. Recently, he even embarked on a Sanathana Dharma tour across South India to advocate his beliefs — a shift that has naturally raised questions about his consistency and intent.
In a new interview with a Tamil media outlet, Pawan addressed these concerns, shedding light on his evolving perspective.
“It’s not like I suddenly became someone else,” Pawan explained. “My support for Sanathana Dharma comes from years of frustration and suppressed energy. Time and again, people casually comment on Hindu gods and our Dharma, and I just couldn’t accept that. I felt it was my duty to voice the sentiments of the Hindu community. We simply don’t want anyone to disrespect our belief system.”
He also clarified that this wasn’t an overnight transformation. “This was a gradual process — a learning curve. I was deeply disturbed by the negative narratives surrounding Sanathana Dharma and Hindu culture. That’s why I decided to stand up for my beliefs,” he added.
Pawan was quick to assert that his stance isn’t influenced by any political party or group. “This is my personal view. It has nothing to do with the BJP or RSS. I did what I felt was right,” he stated.
Acknowledging the diverse opinions around him, Pawan expressed that he is prepared for the criticism that comes with his transition. His candid and thoughtful remarks have provided new clarity on the subject and highlighted his sincerity, bringing an end to much of the ongoing speculation.
