Pawan Kalyan’s OG Faces Slowdown Amid Kantara Mania

Pawan Kalyan’s OG, released on 25th September, created a major buzz, putting other films like Little Hearts, Mirai, Kishkindhapuri, and Beauty on the backseat. The movie was released on a grand scale and received blockbuster talk initially. However, its momentum slowed down after the first week.

With Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 ruling the box office nationwide, OG’s collections further tapered. While OG had a good start and performed well during its first week, family audiences have increasingly preferred Kantara over the A-certified OG, especially after the festival release.

Despite the slowdown, there is still an opportunity for OG to boost its box office revenue during the ongoing holiday season. The upcoming Saturday and Sunday are expected to be crucial for the movie’s performance. Kantara benefited from a strong festival release across multiple theatres, which impacted OG’s audience share.

So far, OG has been a success for the producers, but additional collections are needed to ensure distributors remain in a safe zone. With only two more days left in the holiday season, all eyes are on the movie’s performance as fans and trade analysts await further updates.
