Pawan Kalyan’s much-awaited film OG is gearing up for a grand release ahead of the Dusshera festive season. With holidays boosting cinema footfalls, the craze around the movie is already sky-high, even before the trailer is out. Social media is abuzz with discussions about premiere shows and potential record-breaking collections.
The makers are reportedly planning paid premieres and special shows a day before release, i.e., on September 24th night, as the film officially hits theatres on September 25th. They are also likely to seek ticket price hikes from both the Telugu state governments.
However, uncertainty looms over Telangana’s approval. After the Pushpa 2 controversy, the state has become stricter, granting special permissions only for films with patriotic, historic, or socially significant themes. While Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu received clearance for being a period drama, OG, being a gangster actioner, may face hurdles. On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh is expected to be more flexible, with fans hopeful for 1 AM shows, while Telangana might allow shows only from 4 AM onwards if permissions are granted.
To avoid last-minute chaos, advance bookings are expected to open 4–5 days before release, giving distributors enough time to gauge public demand and plan additional shows accordingly.
Directed by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Danayya, OG is already riding on massive hype. A powerful trailer and a grand pre-release event are set to fuel the buzz further, ensuring thunderous openings at the box office.
