Pawan Kalyan’s OG Gets A Certificate Ahead of 25th Release

Pawan Kalyan’s much-anticipated film OG, directed by Sujeeth, is all set for a grand release on the 25th of this month. The film has completed its censor formalities and surprisingly received an A certificate, despite the team initially aiming for a U/A rating.

The makers had hoped to secure a U/A certificate, which would allow younger audiences to watch the film. This would have required several modifications and cuts suggested by the censor board. While the team tried to minimize changes, the final verdict was an A certificate with eight specific modifications.

Speaking at the pre-release event, Pawan Kalyan opened up about the challenges his films often face, hinting at the censorship hurdles without revealing full details.

An A certificate means that OG will be restricted to adults, limiting attendance by children and teenagers under 18. This could affect family turnouts, especially during the festive season when families typically watch films together. While multiplexes strictly enforce age restrictions, single screens and B & C centres in rural areas are often more flexible, which could work in favor of OG.

Ultimately, the film’s strong content could draw audiences to theatres, much like the success witnessed with films such as Salaar and Animal.
