Pawan Kalyan’s move to appoint Vasudev aka Dev as the political strategist is drawing criticism within and outside party. While Dev’s political roots in BJP has already triggered a row, the latest is Vasudev’s Telangana connection has become centre of jokes. Several jokes are circulating online that Pawan has roped in a Telangana strategist to chalk out plans, strategy for Andhra Pradesh politics.
Dev, who is native of Chintal Basthi, claiming that he is not familiar with Telugu has become a target for online trolls. Many are questioning why Dev was hiding his Telugu or Telangana connection and boasting as a non-local.
Also, contrary to claims, Dev wasn’t big in BJP as claimed. He was confined to a party worker in BJP and a small-time spokesperson. However, Janasena party’s claims that Dev was a strategist with BJP has turned out to be false.
Meanwhile, buzz is that Pawan’s move to appoint Dev as their party’s strategist hasn’t gone down well with many of Janasena leaders, activists. Even neutral political observers have expressed their shock over Pawan’s decision. All in all, this seems to be another wrong move by Pawan.
On top of it, Dev has been working for Janansena as strategist for the past 8 months. Anyone who is closely observing Pawan, Janasena for the last 8 months could easily say the huge damage occurred to Pawan’s public and political image. His often confusing statements, proof-less allegations, retractions and clarifications to his own statements, dragging media and AP state government into his personal issue have all tampered Pawan’s image largely.
Amidst this, revealing Dev’s face as Janasena’s election strategist does more damage than the good Pawan was expecting from it.
