Pawan Kalyan’s much-anticipated action thriller They Call Him OG has stormed into theatres with a thunderous opening, rewriting records in the Telugu film industry. Directed by Sujeeth and produced by DVV Entertainments, the film has dominated its first three days at the box office, drawing massive crowds across India and overseas.
The film opened with spectacular numbers on its first day, driven by special premieres and benefit shows that began as early as 1 AM. With ticket prices touching ₹1,000 in Andhra Pradesh and ₹800 in Telangana, demand soared to record levels. According to trade reports, OG earned around ₹63.75 crore net in India on Day 1, while global collections, including premieres, were pegged at nearly ₹144 crore gross worldwide. This opening instantly positioned the film among the biggest launches of 2025 in Indian cinema.
On Friday, however, the collections saw a sharp decline of nearly 70–80%. The film managed to collect ₹18.75 crore net in India and around ₹28–29 crore gross globally. Despite the dip, this was still enough to push the cumulative worldwide earnings beyond the lifetime collection of Bheemla Nayak, making OG Pawan Kalyan’s highest-grossing film at that stage.
The third day showed stability, as OG collected an estimated ₹18.50 crore net in India. This brought the three-day domestic net tally to around ₹122 crore. Overseas markets also contributed significantly, with trade estimates suggesting international collections in the range of ₹50–60 crore over the first three days.
By the end of its opening weekend, They Call Him OG is estimated to have crossed ₹160–170 crore gross worldwide, combining strong domestic and overseas numbers. Some sources, however, have reported a more conservative total of ₹116.87 crore worldwide after three days, which may reflect adjustments in accounting for previews, taxes, or regional grosses.
Despite a steep decline after its opening day, the film has managed to sustain decent occupancy in Telugu markets, with Day 3 showing more stability. Its performance in Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi versions has been moderate, but the Telugu market remains the primary driver of earnings. Overseas collections, particularly in North America, have given the film a strong push as well.
As one of the most talked-about releases of the year, They Call Him OG has already etched its place as a major commercial success for Pawan Kalyan. The coming weekdays will be crucial in determining whether the film can maintain momentum and join the elite list of all-time Telugu blockbusters.
