From a couple of days since the Prapancha Telugu Mahasabhalu are inaugurated in Telangana, many are desiring to see their favourite film stars, all in one place. But then, they are kept in waiting for days and finally other day the stars twinkled on the stage, taking the event by a storm.
At the event, the speech given by Baahubali maker Rajamouli was short and sweet, and the intent was good. But does that really stand a worthy advice?
“In Tamilnadu, once I noticed few kids at a temple reading Thirukkaral book. They are short stories (couplets) dealing with everyday individual life and morale. I asked them why they are by-hearting that in such a way. Then they said, the government introduced a scheme, a prize money if a kid by-hearts and narrates back all the Thirukkal stories. Maybe Telangana Government should consider introducing such scheme here as well asking kids to read Vemana Satakam and others” said Rajamouli, on the stage of World Telugu Conference that is taking place in Hyderabad.
Literally, the idea is like paying money to kids for learning the Telugu language. Also, that is a forceful rubbing of the language on youngsters for sure. Rather offering money, maybe Government should consider giving 10 extra marks for guys who take up Telugu as a subject or narrate these Vemana Satakams and others.
