The promotions of ‘Ponniyin Selvan – 2’ are in full swing right now. With the movie all set to hit the screens on 28th April, the entire team is going all over the country and are making sure that the hype is generated on this magnum opus. The main cast of the movie is taking part in pre-release events, interviews and media interactions.

In the midst of all these hectic promotions, Trisha took time to post a lovely click on social media which is currently going viral. With a couple of heart emojis, Trisha shared a click where she posed with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and called it a ‘Nan and Kun’ moment. As we know, Aishwarya plays the role of Nandini while Trisha will be seen as Kundavai in the movie. There is a myth that female co-stars can’t be friends but the star actresses proved everyone wrong.

During the promotions, Trisha once said, “I fortunately got to meet her and interact with her on the day one of my shoot. She is beautiful inside and out, I don’t even need to say that. The thing is, this was challenging because we are not supposed to like each other too much in this film, but we got along pretty famously on set. There were times when Mani sir would come and say, ‘listen, you guys are taking too much, stop talking, I can’t have this camaraderie for my scene’. There were times when he would scold us too.”

Talking about Aishwarya, the ‘Varsham’ actress earlier said, “She is so warm and one of the most hardworking actors I have worked with. She spoke in chaste Tamil and how it has to be spoken. She will get up at 2 am and get ready with us. I am very honoured that I could share a screen space with her.”

Produced under Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies banners, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban are playing key roles. AR Rahman is the music composer. Ravi Varman is the director of photography while Sreekar Prasad is the editor. The action was composed by Kecha Khamphakdee, Sham Kaushal & Dhilip Subbarayan. As we are aware, Karthi, Chiyaan Vikram and Jayam Ravi are the male leads in this flick.

Pradeep Ranganathan has emerged as one of the biggest stars of Tamil cinema, delivering a hat-trick of ₹100 crore blockbusters with Love Today, Dragon, and Dude. However, his journey in the film industry began behind the camera. Pradeep initially made short films, often acting in them himself, before transitioning to feature films.

He made his directorial debut with Comali, starring Jayam Ravi and Kajal Aggarwal, which became a hit and established him as a promising filmmaker. His second directorial, Love Today, was adapted from one of his short films and marked his debut as a lead actor. The film became a massive box office success, turning Pradeep into an overnight star and opening doors for multiple acting offers.

Following this, he starred in Dragon directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and Dude directed by Keerthiswaran. Both films, along with Love Today, crossed the ₹100 crore mark, solidifying his reputation as a bankable lead actor.

Looking ahead, Pradeep’s upcoming film is LIK, directed by Vignesh Shivan, scheduled for release in early 2026. After that, he will return to direction with a long-cherished dream project in which he will also play the lead role. Interestingly, he had previously approached Thalapathy Vijay with the same script, but the project did not materialize. Producer Archana Kalpathi of AGS Entertainment, who backed Love Today and Dragon, confirmed that Pradeep’s next directorial will go on floors in 2026 and is slated for release the same year.

In summary, Pradeep Ranganathan had two releases in 2025 (Dragon and Dude) and is set for another two releases in 2026 (LIK and his untitled directorial), maintaining his strong momentum in Tamil cinema.
