The promotions of ‘Ponniyin Selvan – 2’ are in full swing right now. With the movie all set to hit the screens on 28th April, the entire team is going all over the country and are making sure that the hype is generated on this magnum opus. The main cast of the movie is taking part in pre-release events, interviews and media interactions.
In the midst of all these hectic promotions, Trisha took time to post a lovely click on social media which is currently going viral. With a couple of heart emojis, Trisha shared a click where she posed with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and called it a ‘Nan and Kun’ moment. As we know, Aishwarya plays the role of Nandini while Trisha will be seen as Kundavai in the movie. There is a myth that female co-stars can’t be friends but the star actresses proved everyone wrong.
During the promotions, Trisha once said, “I fortunately got to meet her and interact with her on the day one of my shoot. She is beautiful inside and out, I don’t even need to say that. The thing is, this was challenging because we are not supposed to like each other too much in this film, but we got along pretty famously on set. There were times when Mani sir would come and say, ‘listen, you guys are taking too much, stop talking, I can’t have this camaraderie for my scene’. There were times when he would scold us too.”
Talking about Aishwarya, the ‘Varsham’ actress earlier said, “She is so warm and one of the most hardworking actors I have worked with. She spoke in chaste Tamil and how it has to be spoken. She will get up at 2 am and get ready with us. I am very honoured that I could share a screen space with her.”
Produced under Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies banners, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban are playing key roles. AR Rahman is the music composer. Ravi Varman is the director of photography while Sreekar Prasad is the editor. The action was composed by Kecha Khamphakdee, Sham Kaushal & Dhilip Subbarayan. As we are aware, Karthi, Chiyaan Vikram and Jayam Ravi are the male leads in this flick.

Nagarjuna’s 100th Film Raises Fan Hopes
March 11, 2026

Veteran actor Akkineni Nagarjuna has long been admired for his stylish screen presence and youthful looks. Even today, many fans praise the star for appearing much younger than his age. However, his recent script choices have not entirely satisfied a section of Akkineni fans, as some feel his roles are not getting enough prominence despite the stylish presentation.
In recent years, Nagarjuna has been collaborating frequently with Tamil actors and technicians. Last year, he shared screen space with Dhanush in the film Kubera, which reportedly delivered a moderate result at the box office.
More recently, Nagarjuna appeared in a villain role in Rajinikanth’s film Coolie. Although the movie opened strongly due to heavy pre-release hype, the overall content failed to impress many viewers. Fans who expected a powerful role for Nagarjuna were left disappointed after the release.
Before the film hit theatres, director Lokesh Kanagaraj had spoken highly about Nagarjuna’s character, which raised huge expectations among audiences. However, after watching the film, many felt that the role did not fully live up to the hype created earlier.
Interestingly, while several Tamil actors are now collaborating with Telugu filmmakers, Nagarjuna has once again chosen to work with a Tamil director for his next project. Notably, this upcoming movie will mark his 100th film, making it a significant milestone in his career.
The project is being directed by young Tamil filmmaker Ra Karthik. Speaking to Tamil media recently, Karthik revealed that the shooting is progressing continuously and promised that Nagarjuna will appear extremely stylish in the film.
The director also mentioned that Nagarjuna will be seen in multiple looks and compared his style in the film to the way he appeared in classic films like Shiva and Rakshakudu, as well as his recent appearance in Coolie.
While the director’s praise has generated excitement among fans, Akkineni followers are hoping the film delivers strong content and a memorable role rather than relying solely on pre-release hype. Many fans are optimistic after hearing Karthik’s comments, though some remain cautious, as similar elevations from Tamil filmmakers in the past have not always translated into satisfying roles.
With this milestone project, Akkineni fans are now pinning their hopes on Karthik, eagerly waiting to see whether the director can truly meet their expectations with Nagarjuna’s landmark 100th film.
