For several years now, the issue of the missing pink diamond has been getting more and more uglier. It all started when the main priest of the Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Ramana Deekshitulu, who had worked as the main priest for 24 years, had said that the pink diamond – part of Venkateswara Swamy’s ornaments – was missing.
Vijayasai Reddy had then said that the Pink diamond was stolen by none other than the then CM, Chandrababu Naidu, and also said that searches should be done in Chandrababu’s house, for the diamond. TTD had even filed a defamation case against Vijayasai and Ramana Deekshitulu, back then, at a cost of Rs. 100 Crores. Following all of these statements, a certain pink diamond that was auctioned in Geneva, was speculated to be the pink diamond belonging to Venkateswara Swamy.
This pink diamond issue has been dragged multiple times into political discussions for various benefits, with the YSRCP mostly trying to defame the TDP. A person named Venugopal, filed a petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, on the issue, questioning the existence of the pink diamond in the first place. The case was headed by Justice Wadhwa and Jagannatha Rao, who, after carefully inspecting Venkateswara Swamy’s ornaments, have ruled out the existence of the pink diamond in the first place.
The YSRCP had also passed a statements in the past, saying that the pink diamond doesn’t even exist. With both the HC and the ruling party passing these statements, it is now to be seen how the perpetrators of this issue will be punished – if they will be punished by law, or if they will be punished by God himself.
