On January 1st, the Subramanya Swamy idol was vandalized in Rajamahendravaram, East Godavari district. Finally, police caught the culprit.

Police said that the priest was beheaded for money. The accused was arrested on the 31st of January. It was confirmed that the contract was for 30 thousand.
According to the evidence available so far, Malla Venkataraju (husband of 42nd Division ex-corporator) and Danthuluri Venkatapathi Raju (former TNTUC organizing secretary) have been arrested along with Venkata Murali in this case.
