Looks like the BJP is going through a bad time as the party could not establish government in Maharashtra and now it received setbacks with the results of West Bengal by-elections. The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) won all the three seats and BJP is shell shocked by the results.
The by-poll for Karimpur, Kaliaganj (SC) and Kharagpur Sadar assembly seats were conducted on November 25 and the results are declared on Thursday. What’s to be noticed here is TMC has won Kaliaganj and Kharagpur Sadar seats for the first time in the party’s political history. TMC’s Tapan Deb Singha has won by a margin of 2,304 votes over the BJP candidate.
West Bengal CM and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee is on cloud nine with the victory and issued a counter to the BJP. “Political arrogance will not work in Bengal and this by-election has proved it,” said Mamata after the results are out.
