Bigg Boss is one of the most successful reality television shows in India and it is going on for years in many languages. The Hindi version has crossed a decade and it ventured into OTT platforms too. In the recent Bigg Boss OTT, actor and director Pooja Bhatt too arrived as the contestant and she recently made some interesting comments about her recovery from alcohol issues and many other things.
She said, “I had a drinking problem, and that’s why I acknowledged my addiction and made the decision to quit. Society gives a license to men and thus they can openly speak about being addicted and recovering from alcoholism. However, women don’t openly drink and so they don’t openly recover. I used to drink openly so when I thought of recovering from alcoholism I realised that why should I recover in the closet? People used to call me an alcoholic but then I said I’m a recovering alcoholic.”
As we know, Pooja Bhatt is the daughter of renowned director Mahesh Bhatt and the half-sister of star actress Alia Bhatt. She is the cousin of Emraan Hashmi too. She produced a lot of films like ‘Jism’, ‘Jism 2’, ‘Holiday’, ‘Tamanna’, ‘Sur’ and others. She made her acting debut in 1989 with ‘Daddy’ and worked in many films like ‘Sadak’, ‘Jaanam’, ‘Junoon’, ‘Sadak 2’, ‘Bombay Begum’, ‘Chup’ and others.
