Popular South Indian actress Pooja Hegde, who was once a leading name in Telugu cinema, has now shifted her focus to Bollywood. After years of working in Tollywood, she is now predominantly taking up Hindi projects.
Recently, Pooja made some bold revelations about the negative PR tactics in the industry. She shared that she was often targeted by certain influencer accounts on social media, which regularly posted negative content about her. Upon investigation, she discovered that these smear campaigns were orchestrated by rival actresses who allegedly paid for such targeted negativity.
Following this, Pooja also spoke candidly about nepotism in the film industry and the struggles of outsiders like herself.
“The kind of opportunities that star kids get with just their second or third film is beyond my reach. There are directors whom I have personally texted, but they don’t even respond, while the same filmmakers readily give appointments to star kids. For someone like me, even securing a meeting with them is a challenge,” Pooja revealed.
Having been in the industry for nearly a decade and once being a top choice for Telugu films, her statement on nepotism has now sparked discussions. The fact that some filmmakers are ignoring her calls while giving immediate access to industry insiders sheds light on the continuing divide in the film industry. Pooja’s candid remarks have certainly grabbed attention, reigniting debates on favoritism and power dynamics in cinema.
