Actress and model Arya Banerjee (Debdatta Banerjee) was found dead in in south Kolkata on Friday. The 35-year-old Arya was the youngest daughter of sitar pundit Nikhil Banerjee and has also appeared in some TV serials including Vidya Balan’s film ‘The Dirty Picture’ and Dibakar Banerjee’s film ‘Love Sex Aur Dhoka’. Now the police have confirmed that Arya Banerjee had not committed any suicide.
The post-mortem report of the Bengali actor-model Arya Banerjee, alias Debdatta Banerjee (35) has ruled out homicide and confirmed that her demise was natural, caused as result of ill health.Kolkata Police Joint Commissioner (Crime) Murlidhar Sharma stated that Arya had been suffering from liver cirrhosis. “It was not a case of homicide. Alcohol was found in her stomach at the time of her death due to excessive drinking”, he affirmed.
It is learnt that Arya lived alone with her pet dog in the Jodhpur park area. Police informed that Arya’s maid Chandana Das had come to her house but despite much effort she didn’t open the door. Soon the neighbors and police were informed about it and on unlocking the door by police, Arya was found dead in her bedroom.
