Prabhas Reconsiders Prasanth Varma Project Amid Controversy

With the controversy surrounding Prasanth Varma’s alleged financial irregularities with multiple producers gaining traction, uncertainty now clouds his much-talked-about project with superstar Prabhas.

Prabhas, who has a three-film deal with Hombale Films — the prestigious Kannada banner behind Salaar — was reportedly granted full creative freedom to choose his directors. As part of this agreement, his first collaboration will be Salaar 2 with Prashanth Neel. For the remaining two projects, Prabhas had initially shown interest in teaming up with Prasanth Varma and another noted filmmaker.

Interestingly, Prasanth Varma had pitched to Prabhas the same high-concept story he earlier narrated to Ranveer Singh, and sources suggested that Prabhas had responded enthusiastically. However, in light of the recent controversies, the actor is said to be re-evaluating his options and might opt to work with other directors instead.
Known for his clean image and low-profile nature, Prabhas is believed to prefer maintaining distance from any filmmakers embroiled in disputes.

Sensing the growing speculation, Prasanth Varma issued a press statement defending himself, asserting that the allegations are “one-sided” and that the circulating reports “misrepresent the actual situation.”
