None expected that some other big superstar will take Tollywood after legendary NT Rama Rao as the likes of Krishna, Sobhan Babu and others are just struggling there to get to the top position. Though they are happening stars, they didn’t rose to superstardom. Cut to the late 80s, we have a new superstar emerged in the form of Megastar Chiranjeevi.
As everyone has witnessed Chiranejevi’s stardom for decades, its time to move on to a new superstar and wonders who is going to take the mantle from him. There are the likes of Mahesh, Ram Charan, Jr NTR and Allu Arjun in the race but none are becoming that strong No 1 contestant. And here comes Prabhas. Isn’t it?
Rising to a new high with Mirchi, Prabhas simply took it to hundred levels higher with Baaahubali franchisee. Surely one film’s success will not take his stardom to a ‘megastar’ level, but the result of Saaho speaks for it. Because the film got a flop talk and panned by critics, and still it continued to post impressive numbers all through. That’s the true indication of a superstar’s arrival when your flops films collect than some bigger hits of rivals.
However, it might be too early to conclude that Prabhas is the next megastar of Tollywood without some back to back big blockbuster, but his nation-wide stardom won’t stop you doing so. Hope the actor scores some couple of big hits in a row from now, to flex his muscles and grab the crown from Chiranjeevi.
