After delivering back-to-back hits with Love Today and Dragon, director Pradeep Ranganathan is back with his latest film, Dude, directed by Keerthiswaran. The movie stars Mamitha Baiju as the female lead and is produced by Mythri Movie Makers, aiming for a Diwali release on October 17. The makers released the theatrical trailer this morning, giving fans a first glimpse of the film.

From the trailer, Dude appears to be another romantic comedy from Pradeep, but with a deeper emotional core that remains partially hidden. The trailer begins with Pradeep’s voiceover: “If you deal life with a bad hand, life will deal you with the right hand,” hinting at the film’s underlying message.

Mamitha is introduced as Pradeep’s love interest, and their romance faces a twist when she refuses marriage and leaves him. The unfolding of events, along with the role of Neha Shetty as another key character, is expected to drive the major narrative of the film.

The dialogues, peppered with Gen-Z humor, are a highlight. Lines like “Pakkodi feelings ni cringe ga chudadame kada ippudu trend” and “Thali meeda maryada ledu. Dani venakala unna ammayi feelings meede maryada” are designed to resonate with younger audiences. Director Keerthiswaran confirmed in an interview that the thali plays a pivotal role in the story, and the trailer hints at its significance.

The background score complements the visuals beautifully, and unlike his previous films, Pradeep also showcases his action avatar in certain sequences.

Overall, the trailer promises a mix of entertainment, romance, and mass appeal while keeping the film’s emotional heart under wraps. To uncover the full depth of the story, audiences will have to catch Dude in theatres.
