Tamil actor Pradeep Ranganathan’s latest film, Return of the Dragon, is rewriting box office history, surpassing ₹150 crores worldwide and emerging as the biggest Tamil hit of 2025, surpassing Vidaamuyarchi. Co-starring Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, Mysskin, and Gautham Vasudeva Menon, the film has been enjoying a phenomenal run since its release on February 21.
After making a strong impact with Love Today, Pradeep Ranganathan has once again entered the elite ₹100-crore club. In just 10 days, Return of the Dragon grossed ₹100 crores worldwide. Even on its 19th day (third Tuesday), the film managed to collect ₹1.25 crores despite competition from Kingston, which has struggled to reach ₹5 crores in five days.
With an impressive 70% occupancy in Tamil Nadu and Telugu states, the film is on track to breach the ₹200 crore mark. Adding to its advantage, Return of the Dragon has no major competition until Eid, giving it an open box office window. The upcoming releases—Officer on Duty (a Malayalam thriller), Court (starring Priyadarshi), and Dilruba (featuring Kiran Abbavaram)—are unlikely to pose a serious threat. Even the following week’s lineup, featuring Shanmukha and Pelli Kaani Prasad, consists of smaller films, ensuring Pradeep Ranganathan’s blockbuster retains its momentum for at least another 15 days.
With its unstoppable box office run, Return of the Dragon is expected to premiere on Netflix on March 28, 2025, though an official confirmation is awaited. Fans are eagerly anticipating how much more the film will collect before its OTT debut!
