
The newly introduced 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill has triggered a heated nationwide debate. The bill proposes the automatic removal of the Prime Minister, chief ministers, and other ministers from their posts if they are detained for 30 consecutive days on charges carrying punishment of five years or more.
While the BJP strongly supports the bill, the opposition is opposing it, claiming the provision is designed to target anti-BJP leaders. The bill is still pending approval in Parliament.
Against this backdrop, senior actor Prakash Raj, known for his outspoken anti-BJP views, raised what he termed a “silly doubt.”
Taking to X, he wrote:
“Dear Supreme Law Maker, in a state called ‘A,’ is there an agenda behind this NEW BILL — to arrest the former CM or the current CM if they don’t listen to you, and then elevate the Deputy CM who does listen to you as Chief Minister? #justasking #newbill #parliament”
Prakash Raj’s post hinted at a possible political strategy — suggesting that the bill could pave the way for Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan to become the Chief Minister if either N. Chandrababu Naidu or Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy were jailed for non-cooperation with the BJP.
The actor has been consistently critical of Pawan Kalyan, especially after the latter allied with the BJP. He frequently uses social media to attack the Jana Sena chief in sharp terms.
Just last month, Prakash Raj slammed Pawan Kalyan over his comments on the importance of learning Hindi, posting on X:
