Prasanth Varma–Niranjan Reddy Financial Dispute Intensifies

A major rift has surfaced between Hanu-Man director Prasanth Varma and the film’s producer Niranjan Reddy, with both parties submitting strong allegations against each other to the Tollywood Producer’s Council and Directors’ Association.

In his complaint dated October 11, 2025, Niranjan Reddy stated that he paid ₹10 crore to Prasanth Varma as advances for five proposed films under the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe — Adhira, Mahakali, Jai Hanuman, Brahma Rakshas, and Octopus. He claims that despite the financial commitments, the projects failed to move forward, and accused the director of shifting focus to other production houses. He has sought ₹200 crore compensation and asked other studios allegedly involved to halt further production.

Responding to the allegations, Prasanth Varma denied all claims, stating that the real issue stems from unpaid dues from Hanu-Man profits. He asserted that the film earned nearly ₹295 crore, yet he was paid only ₹7.82 crore, despite a 50:50 profit-sharing agreement. Varma alleged that the producer filed the complaint to avoid fulfilling these financial obligations.

With both sides presenting conflicting claims and contractual interpretations, the matter now awaits intervention from the council. Meanwhile, industry insiders note the increasing pressure on Prasanth Varma to expedite one of his pending projects amidst growing financial scrutiny.
