After unveiling Prithviraj Sukumaran’s intense look as Kumbha, the makers of Globe Trotter have revealed the next major character: Priyanka Chopra Jonas as Mandakini. The poster showcases her in a fiery action avatar — draped in a yellow saree, leaping mid-air while firing a gun, with explosions lighting up the background.
SS Rajamouli took to X (formerly Twitter) to introduce her character, writing, “The woman who redefined Indian cinema on the global stage. Welcome back, Desi Girl! Can’t wait for the world to witness your myriad shades of Mandakini.” This film marks Priyanka’s comeback to Indian cinema after six years, and her collaboration with Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu makes it an even bigger event.
During a fan chat on X, Priyanka shared her excitement about working with Mahesh Babu: “The best way to join Telugu cinema is to do it with the greats! Mahesh is a legend and a dear friend.”
The makers are keeping her character’s relationships under wraps for now. Whether she is paired opposite Mahesh or Prithviraj will be revealed during the grand character reveal on November 15. However, the character names — Kumbha and Mandakini — suggest that Rajamouli is once again drawing inspiration from Indian mythology.
