The Congress party has not been strong in Uttar Pradesh for quite some time now, with the younger generation not giving much priority to the Gandhi family, whose charisma worked wonders with the older generation. With the Congres party not on the frontlines anymore, as it used to be in the past, the main competition has now boiled down to be being in between the BJP and BSP, who are going head to head in the upcoming UP general elections.
With that, the Congress party is now fielding Priyanka Gandhi as the Chief Ministerial candidate for the state of UP, trying to project her as a youth icon. In the past also, Priyanka took up several responsibilities during UP’s general elections, but Congress didn’t perform as well. Now, Priyanka is said to be taking on more responsibilities and trying to make sure that Congress wins.
Now that Prashanth Kishore is said to be trying his best to get the Congress back in form, he is said to be trying everything he can, to make sure that the Congress wins this time. It is now to be seen what will happen.
