Oka Manasu produced under TV9 productions and Madhura Entertainment has been made with a tight budget of Rs 3 crores. Interestingly, theatrical rights of the musical romantic entertainer film were sold for whopping Rs 7 crores. So the producers pocketed more than double profits, before the film’s theatrical outing.In fact, buzz was high on Oka Manasu since it marked big screen debut of mega brother Nagababu’s only daughter Niharika Konidela. Mega family and fans lend their support for the film, before it hit the screens on Friday.
In addition, the film got clean U certificate from censor sleuths which made family audience to wait for release of the film.Unluckily, the film Oka Manasu directed by Rama Raju has got mixed response from critics and audience alike. As per trade experts, the movie is expected to provide losses for distributors. Although the film is doing average to above average business in urban centers, it is completely weak in rural areas, which is main strength of mega heroes.
Although lead actors Niharika and Naga Shourya are praised for their performances, excess of drama, poetic and sluggish narration has played spoilsport. Bad luck for Niharika who wants to continue as actress. What will she do now? Will she wait for film offers or continue doing reality shows in small screen?
