Queen: Yamini ER’s Heroine-Centric Telugu Debut

The title glimpse of the upcoming Telugu film Queen was unveiled on Valentine’s Day, instantly grabbing attention for its unique concept and strong social message. The film marks the heroine debut of popular social media influencer Yamini ER and is directed by young filmmaker Rathan Rishi, known for his previous works Uttara and Artist. With Queen, Rathan Rishi is presenting a heroine-centric love story that blends romance with contemporary social issues, making it one of the most intriguing upcoming Telugu films.

Produced under the One Circle Films banner, Queen features Kalakeya Prabhakar and Ajay Ghosh in key antagonist roles. The makers are also reportedly in talks with a popular hero from the 1990s to play the heroine’s father, adding curiosity around the casting. The project is being mounted on a significant scale, with regular shooting underway.

The recently released glimpse hints at a love story that goes beyond personal emotions and engages with society and the system. Visuals referencing the Indian Constitution, RTI Act, people-centric governance, and the concept of an “Act of Love” have sparked discussions online. The film’s narrative suggests that love is not just an emotion but a force that questions existing systems and seeks meaningful change.

Director Rathan Rishi aims to showcase the inspiring journey of a young woman who fights to give legal recognition to the dream of the man she loves and plays a pivotal role in making that dream a reality. With Yamini ER stepping into mainstream cinema for the first time, expectations are high to see her performance in this strong, author-backed role. The makers are expected to release more updates, including first look posters and the official release date, in the coming weeks.
