Rahul Gandhi targets Centre on unplanned lockdown, says it still haunts the country

With the rapid spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Union Government had imposed a nationwide lockdown in March to contain the virus spread. Everything came to a standstill during the lockdown period.

However, the opposition parties, including Congress have found fault with the government imposing lockdown. Opposition parties even called the lockdown an unplanned one citing the problems faced by the migrant labours who were forced to move to their native places from their work locations.

Former Congress Chief, Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi launched a fresh attack on the Centre over imposing lockdown. Sharing a report issued by UNICEF, Rahul Gandhi said, the unplanned lockdown continues to haunt India.

“The unplanned lockdown disaster continues to haunt the country. Condolences to the lakhs of families being punished with indescribable pain for GOI’s incompetence & myopia,” Rahul Gandhi’s tweet reads. With the government’s unplanned lockdown, lakhs of families across the nation have suffered during this period, Rahul Gandhi alleged.

This is not the first time, Rahul Gandhi lashed out at the government over the lockdown decision. Since then, Rahul Gandhi never missed an opportunity to mock Narendra Modi and the union government.

Earlier too, the Wayanad MP breathed fire on the Union Government on lockdown and expressed his concerns over the migrant labours and poor people who faced a lot of problems with pay cuts in salaries.
