SS Rajamouli is no longer just a Telugu filmmaker—he has become a global cinematic icon. After gaining international acclaim with the Baahubali series, he elevated his stature further with RRR, making a significant impact on global audiences. During his promotional tour for RRR in Japan, Rajamouli met video game legend Hideo Kojima. Now, that connection has resurfaced, as the two recently had a Zoom call along with Rajamouli’s son and producer, SS Karthikeya.
Currently, Rajamouli and his team are busy with pre-production work for SSMB29, his highly anticipated project with Mahesh Babu. Amidst these preparations, the Zoom interaction with Kojima sparked speculation. Some believe the conversation was related to Rajamouli’s next venture, possibly exploring collaborations beyond cinema, while others say it was simply a friendly catch-up.
Hideo Kojima took to X (formerly Twitter) and posted a screenshot of the Zoom call, writing, “With director S.S. Rajamouli and his son and producer, S.S. Karthikeya.” Quoting the post, Karthikeya replied, “Beyond excited for this,” igniting curiosity and buzz among fans and followers.
Back in 2022, when Rajamouli met Kojima for the first time, he expressed his excitement by tweeting, “Delighted and honoured to meet the legendary @hideo_kojima in Japan. Talked to him about video games, movies and much more… Will cherish these memories for long :)”
With this renewed interaction, rumors are swirling that something unique might be in the works. Whether this leads to a new creative partnership or just remains a memorable conversation, fans will have to wait for an official announcement to know more.
