Veteran actor Rajasekhar has faced a challenging couple of years at the box office, with films like Deyyam and Shekhar failing to make an impact. After taking a long break, he is now gearing up for a comeback with the Telugu remake of the Tamil blockbuster Lubbar Pandhu.
The original film centers around rural cricket, intense rivalries, and a love story that drives the drama. Rajasekhar is hopeful that the Telugu adaptation will recreate the magic.
In this remake, he will reprise the role originally played by Dinesh. Vishwadev Rachakonda, known for Pittagoda and 35, has been cast in a key role. Rajasekhar’s daughter will make her debut as the female lead, while Ramya Krishna steps into the role originally performed by Swasika.
This reunion of Rajasekhar and Ramya Krishna has already generated excitement among fans. The pair share a cinematic history dating back to the 1993 hit Allari Priyudu, which was a major success with memorable songs, awards, and remakes in other languages. They also worked together in films like Dirghasumangalibhava and Balaramakrishnulu. However, after 1998, the duo did not appear together in films—making this upcoming project their first on-screen reunion in over 25 years, evoking nostalgia among audiences.
The director for the Telugu remake is yet to be officially confirmed, though speculation suggests that Jeevitha, Rajasekhar’s wife and the director of his last film Shekhar, could take charge. Fans eagerly await the official announcement as anticipation builds around this highly anticipated comeback.
