A mere 700 odd votes elections which should be less than that of a Panchayat election garnered the attention of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh with members of Rajendra Prasad and Jayasudha panels resorting to personal allegations. Rajendra Prasad won the election almost effortlessly with 87 votes majority on his closest rival, Jayasudha.
The Sahaja nati was supported by powerful people like Dasari Narayana Rao and outgoing President, Murali Mohan while Rajendra Prasad was supported by Mega Brother Nagababu. The polling was completed last month but the court held the results for about 20 days over the allegations of irregularities. Finally the case was struck down on Thursday allowing the results to be declared.
The results have created so much of curiosity in industry as well as the normal people such that some people even have resorted to betting on Rajendra Prasad and Jayasudha’s win. Now that the results are out, hope that the differences are kept away and they work for the welfare of poor cine-workers from now.
