It’s already known that superstar Rajinikanth is teaming up with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for the much-awaited film Coolie. The project has generated massive buzz, and with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, expectations are sky-high. This powerful combination of Rajinikanth, Lokesh, and Anirudh is raising excitement across pan-India audiences. The makers have also kickstarted promotions, releasing lyrical singles one after another to keep the momentum going.
Recently, the song Chikittu was released, and once again, Rajinikanth impresses with his signature hook steps. But surprisingly, it’s Anirudh who is stealing the spotlight in this track with his energetic performance. Sharing his experience related to the song, Anirudh recently opened up and said, “You’ll see vintage Rajinikanth in this number. He worked extremely hard and took the song as a challenge. Normally, Rajini sir never listens to the songs before shoot—except for ‘Hukum’ from Jailer, he hasn’t heard much in advance. But for Coolie, he listened to Chikittu beforehand. You can see how much he enjoyed it just by watching his dance. He’s absolutely killed it in that classic vintage style. It feels like seeing the Rajinikanth from 30 years ago again.”
Anirudh also added that Rajinikanth shares a unique energy when working with him. Their collaboration in Jailer showcased that same enthusiasm and magic. Over the years, fans have felt that the vibe of classic Rajini songs had faded a bit, with more focus on content than musical impact. But with Anirudh’s arrival, that golden touch seems to be returning. It’s no surprise then that Rajinikanth is making sure Anirudh handles the music for every one of his recent films.
