Rajinikanth Calls on Youth to Embrace Indian Culture

Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, renowned for his spiritual pursuits—including Himalayan retreats before embarking on new projects—recently spoke out about the younger generation’s growing detachment from Indian traditions. During an event in Chennai organized by his wife, Latha Rajinikanth, the actor-turned-politician stressed the importance of cultural awareness in today’s digital age.

“In this mobile-phone era, many young people—and even some adults—are unaware of our nation’s rich heritage,” Rajinikanth observed. “They adopt Western lifestyles without appreciating the glory and depth of our own culture.” He contrasted this trend with the fascination Westerners have for India’s ancient practices: “People from abroad come here seeking peace through meditation, yoga, and natural living—practices they cannot find in their own countries. Latha is working hard to spread this message, and I pray for her success.”

Rajinikanth’s spiritual convictions have long influenced both his personal life and public image. In 2017, when he launched his political outfit, Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM), he pledged to champion a blend of secular governance and spiritual values in Tamil Nadu.

On the professional front, the “Thalaivar” has two major releases on the horizon. Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is set to hit theaters on August 14, 2025, while the eagerly anticipated sequel Jailer 2, under Nelson Dilipkumar’s direction, is currently in production.
